Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs

Ordered a sub from Bee Ridge tonight and it I swear I could have been watching a commercial when I tore the two halves apart. The cheese stretched and stretched. It came hot and fast and was the best one I've probably ever had, and I used to make them over 30+ years ago as HH was my first long term job as a teen. I had to review because I was just in awe of how good that was. I had the ham and cheese sub, as always. Highly highly recommended. Side note: My son got the '73 pizza and said it was awesome. And he's not easily impressed. Whoever is on the line tonight deserves a raise.

Update!!! Wth? Within a week I'm changing my review. First time, heaven, today was sent to hell. Told my husband, let's order from HH again, my sub was so good, we'll see if it was a fluke. Turns out was a fluke. Ordered my usual ham and cheese. Received 2 steak and cheese. Ordered sub set on the side and they literally put it on the side... Of the sub. First time they put it in two separate containers. And look at the lettuce, it looks like I actually got last week's lettuce, you know the one when it was so good. Not so much today. Obviously not going to eat that. I'm making it work cuz I'm hungry, but not happy about it. Darn it.

I ordered the 22$ bundle with 2 medium pizzas and howie bread. The entire order was very disappointing and we were not able to eat it. Both pizzas were cold and dried out as if they had been cooked way too long and the beef on one of the pizzas was was so hard and crunchy it wasn’t edible. I also had more sauce than cheese or meat on both which wasn’t enjoyable either. Lastly the howie bread had to be the most disappointing!! It looked NOTHING like what is shown in pictures. The bread was baked with multiple holes as though it had shriveled up. It looked as though there were only 2 pieces of bread in the box if you were to put it all together and it was so hard to chew that you had no choice but to spit it out. This was my first time and very last time ordering from this location!! I wasted 22$ on a bundle that was nowhere near satisfying.

1/30/26 Robyn/Robin i don’t know which is the correct spelling of her name. But she always always always makes me the best cheese, sausage and cupped pepperoni pizza ever. And on the one night I opted out of breadsticks - I didn’t know she was in the kitchen cooking up. Nevertheless my pizza was so good, i didn’t miss them too much. Thank you…

One of the managers at this establishment could really use a course in customer service. She fights with her own employees in front of customers... awkward for everyone. They regularly forget to season the crusts and at least one thing on the last 5 consecutive orders has been incorrect. I finally called in last night after my order was incorrect( no seasoned crust, burnt pizza, missing toppings and yes we always tip) and when I asked to speak with a manager she replied one word, Yes, then silence. 5 long seconds later she's said hello ooo? I said yes I wanted to speak with a manger, she said, I am the manager. We'll I couldn't tell because you were behaving like an impetulant child. I guess it's back to dominoes.....

I just wanted to say thanks to the management reaching out to me and fixing the issue I had.

This is the most underrated pizza place in town and they're not just pizza they do a lot more than just pizza!
I can tell you all about the menu but you can see that for yourself, this place always comes in clutch as in every time you go there and each person gets their order you're guaranteed to be so happy with their food and quality.
More importantly than anything else when every restaurant I called in the area to place it to go order more than an hour before close wouldn't answer at all, I made it to hungry Howie's just under a half an hour before close she was cleaning up and I asked if they were still open and taking orders she said yes of course and gladly took my order and the food was absolutely perfect down to the salad with the extra dressing I asked for I couldn't be happier give them a try and see what you think!

The pizza was very delicious and full of flavor! The person working was very nice and helpful as well! I'm a pizza lover and this hit the taste buds in all the right ways!!! Try them if you haven't! I just got sausage and green peppers with garlic cheese crust! Ninja turtle vibes all the way!!! Cowabunga!
