Excellent food and excellent service. It is expensive, but was the best seafood we had near the hotel we were staying at. Absolutely worth trip, and in fact ate here several times during our trip for both lunch and dinner.

Yes, the food is top notch. Yes, the view of the water is beautiful. Yes, the atmosphere is elegant and class. But, the service provided was... beyond excellent! Catered to every request and need that I didn't even know was needed. I came for the food, the view and the atmosphere. I'm coming back because of the service.

We were greeted at the door by Joe who sang happy birthday to the birthday girl and then Mike was our server who made an extra special presentation for birthday dessert. The food was excellent, we had calamari, ceviche, red fish, and salmon. The peach cobbler cheesecake finished the meal off.

Excellent drinks, food, bar service. Main hotel bar and restaurant so recommend a reservation for peak times.

Lyle was an exceptional waiter. Very attentive and not intrusive. Explained everything and even called when we forgot a credit card. Great experience, food and service.

Rene

Great food. Great service. And we could even have a conversation without competing with music or loud noise.

We had a lovely dinner at Jack Dusty last night we went for what they call Prosecco and Pearls which was champagne and oysters. The oysters are from the East Coast and the West Coast and we kept it all coming as our server. Austin was so friendly prompt professional made us feel welcome. We sat outside on the terrace. The weather was beautiful. Everything was a perfect 10.! 🎉

The fried green tomatoes and rissotto were delicious. The shrimp in the "shrimp and grits" was perfect, but I cannot speak to the grits, as they were missing. I let the server know on our way out, because it did not affect our enjoyment of lunch, but I did miss them.

I have eaten at Jack Dusty a few times. The service and ambiance is great, my main complaint is the food quality does not match the price point charged. Most meals are 50+ and while good, I would typically expect more when spending 50-70 for a meal. We ordered a lobster special for $65 which was overcooked, and at this price point I would expect it to be exceptional. I have been to several Ritz Carlton's so I know their is a premium, but typically the food is better when at this price point.

Drink 5/5 - my husband's cocktails were amazing. As a pregnant woman who appreciates a good cocktail with dinner (well, used to 😂), the spirit-free Lavender Dreams was great! Food 5/5 - Tuna tartare is a must order appetizer. Filets were just absolutely perfect. Caesar salad - “best I've ever had” from a girl who will eat a Caesar salad every day of the week if we let her, and the mahi was great and cooked perfectly. Desserts - s'mores dessert was great - the kids AND adults loved it. Service 10/5 (seriously 10 out of 5) - Gina was our server. Timing, attention to detail - start to finish, it was absolutely perfect. She even put “congratulations” on our dessert to congratulate us on expecting another baby! We can't wait to come back!

Everything was amazing like always! Best fish tacos, and our server was very nice and attentive.

It was just ok, nothing special to write home about, decent food and service. The drinks were the best part of the meal. There are other options in Downtown Sarasota, which have better food and service. Jack Dusty's does have a better view!

We love Jack Dusty and have been enjoying going there for years. We always enjoy the atmosphere, energy, scenic views and delicious food. Unfortunately, their fish dip has changed tremendously....very wet and not nearly as good as it use to be. This particular dining experience, we ordered the 3 in 1 sampler of fish dip, ceviche, and tuna tartare, all of which we live on and love....this time they were all just blah.... ceviche had zero zing and was more a tomato ceviche than seafood, the tuna tartar was very bland and the fish dip was too wet and lacked a nice smokey flavor. Redfish entree and blackberry salad were delicious.

We've been regular lunch & dinner customers here for the last 8+ years. As residents of SRQ our incredible restaurant scene provides extraordinary choices of many cuisines @ many price points. Today was a huge disappointment for us and eliminated this spot as lunch for our future! We waited 18 minutes to be served water. Then our waiter who seemed to feel he had no choice but to”wait on us,” paid no attention to our order. Our appetizer hot came out with our entrees! Duh! Then I foolishly ordered the Poke bowl. Horrible!! 3 oz of tuna max!! 8 oz of 🍚 and 3 tasteless vegetables. Sad way to end a nice run 😱🤬😵‍💫

Food was good, but I wish there were more vegetable-based appetizers. For someone who doesn't eat fish/shellfish, there were limited appetizer options beyond salads. My husband loved his fish and I enjoyed my steak. The gluten free cake that we got fur dessert was not as tasty as what I can make at home. More gluten free desserts (not just sorbet) would be appreciated. Otherwise, they were able to accommodate gluten free dining needs well.
