Shhh, don't tell anyone about this place. The restaurant is tucked into an unassuming strip mall and most people would drive just right on by. But don't! They have a great menu for being a smaller restaurant and their food is great. I ordered blackened grouper with green beans and made from scratch potato pancakes. The grouper was great. They cooked it perfectly but the surprising part is their veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. Both happy at night. Ordered dessert, key lime pie in chocolate toffee mousse pie and both were delectable. We are making this destination part of our regular restaurant rotation. ?

So I like all levels of restaurants. This one sounded good, and it was. We arrived to a couple open tables, so no wait. The Captain's platter looked perfect, though the specials looked good also. There were 2 couples. The ladles shared an inexpensive but recommended Chardonnay they both liked, while both guys had the amber draft.Food came rather quickly, Captain's plates first, then the Kacey platter and potato crusted grouper special. 4 happy campers. My wife and I hadn't had good fried clams like these since Howard Johnson's decades ago. Oh, prices are more than reasonable. We plan to return with other friends in a few days.

I ordered the blackened fish tacos. I couldn't eat 2 bites. The amount of salt was mouth puckering. The server was wonderful and immediately removed. I then had the ShrimpCargot. Nothing but a bland small shrimp with a TON of butter/oil and smothered in swiss cheese. Inedible. My husband ordered the fried combination platter with clam strips, fried fish and fried shrimp. He enjoyed immensely. The cole slaw was tasty and has pineapple in it. I guess if you are after fried food, it will work. We won't be back....

Highly recommended. Everything is delicious. The best shrimp and grits ever and the Codzilla sandwich is addictive. Too bad they don't take reservations but seating is quick.
Absolutely the best seafood in this area. The "Shrimp Kacey's" is a unique dish that is absolutely delicious. Prices are reasonable, service is great. It's a little-known place since it is off of the mainstream, but it is worth the trip to get there.

I live in Fort Lauderdale but the first place I stop in Sarasota is at Kacey's. Staff are amazing but so is the food. Nothing you pick is a wrong choice. Grab the 9oz of of wine and spoil yourself. Enjoy!!
