Sometimes on vacation you just want comfort food and the taste of home. That's what led me to order the roasted chicken when my family visited the 1181 Grill. This chicken was perfectly seasoned and clearly roasted with skill. It had a crispy golden skin that revealed tender, juicy meat inside. The entree came with garlic mashed potatoes, which were creamy and velvety smooth... with just the right amount of garlic to make them flavorful without being overpowering. They were the ideal companion to the chicken!
The vegetable of the day was roasted zuchini and carrots and they were nearly my favorite part of my meal. Clearly very fresh, they were lightly seasoned and roasted to bring out their sweetness. They added a brilliant balance to the plate.
Last but not least, the staff were attentive, professional, and helpful, but most of all friendly. You can tell they strive to make your experience in their restaurant memorable.
After filling up on this fantastic comfort food, I was ready to extend my vacation just so I could visit 1818 again.

Really good food! The burgers were cooked perfectly (which has been hard to find lately in Sarasota) and the serving sizes were great. I will definitely be back with my family again as the food was well priced, we had two of the burgers and they looked as good as the photos.

We went to 1818 Grill for dinner and let me tell you, it was fantastic! From the service, to the appetizers, to the entree, dessert and the service— this place is a must! We enjoyed the brie and shrimp appetizers, surf and turf, prime rib, peanut butter pie and bourbon bread pudding! The owner, Tommy is very personable and you never know when you might find him in the restaurant dining or visiting with guests! The restaurant is also extremely clean!

Having been long time customers of Knick's we were disappointed when things kind of went sideways there last year but we're very happy to see that new owners have come in and done a wonderful job of breathing new life into the operation. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The menu is varied and well-crafted, and our meal was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. All we talked about on our way home was what we're looking forward to trying on our next visit. We will be back again real soon.
Outstanding!!!

What a wonderful gem of a restaurant! A very cool eclectic atmosphere! Google directed me to this excellent place from reviews and best food in my location. I had the special of the day.....coconut shrimp with steak fries and coleslaw. Honestly one of the best coconut shrimp I have had in a very long time. 6 jumbo shrimp and nice portion of fries and coleslaw, so fresh....I will have the rest for dinner tomorrow. Other patrons ordered the burger that they are known for and the famous bourbon bread pudding for dessert! Many compliments by guests as they were leaving encouraging me to try both!! The owner Tommy, was a refreshing change to many other restaurants where you can get ignored or lost in the crowd! I highly recommend The 1818 grill! You will not be disappointed!

Had lunch with my sister and husband. I had the Cuban which was very good. My husband had the groper Reuben. He said the fish tasted very fresh and he really enjoyed the potato salad that came as his side . My sister liked her Cuban also and said the bread was excellent. We will be back.
