Waiter was eh. Pork fried rice was fine. Tasted good but was mushy. $19 Kojo roll was small and each piece fell apart before I could get it to my mouth.
YUM! The menu has so many delicious choices you'll probably want to come here more than once. The place also has a cool, chill vibe with good music that is not too loud (and not oldies). We loved the dumplings and the spicy wagyu noodles. The noodles do have a kick to them. The Fujiyama Mama cocktail was fantastic! Tart but not too sweet. Good wine list too. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartenders make a lot of cool cocktails. Nice spot for a date or GNO. We'll be back!

Food just pretensious and nothing special. Atmosphere non existent with screaming kids behind my table. Indifferent waiter.

We arrived with no reservations and the place was very busy. They moved things around for a party of six and we were treated to great food and service.

Pathetic and dry service from the start regarding the staff. It was my mom's birthday dinner, and it was our worst dining experience ever due to the uncoordinated staff.
We happened to have a Kojo giftcard, and the staff (including manager) had no idea how to access it (should be the most basic function). Wasted 15 min of our time to help them figure it out, while continually relying on us to resolve it (we provided all necessary information. They continued to make it awkward and stressful for the whole party by asking other members, while they had another member of my party stand by the host station. The manager even insisted we contact the person that has gifted it to us, which is extremely unprofessional. Their lack of training turned into our problem and sure enough they found the giftcard with the same information we provided earlier. We are flexible and patient individuals, happy not to use the card at all and simply wanted to enjoy a rare quality moment with family.
After it got sorted out, our server didn’t even introduce herself or have any other communication with my guests. She only spoke when she took our order.
I spoke to the same manager again after dinner and stated my concerns and she listed but blamed it on her coworker, rather than taking accountability.
This is our first complain ever to a restaurant. We have loved Kojo when it first opened, as it is sad seeing a place once with expectational service decline so much. Will not ever be returning.

Mind blowing food! And I’m not even wild about Asian cuisine usually. And the hospitality is just as good! The manager seated us and talked for a bit, then returned surprising us with champagne and an app! He made my husband and I’s night even more special. Also you must try the sushi tacos!

I already LOVE Sarasota but this is the place I DREAM of when I am not there. From the food to the service, Kojo has been able to set a welcoming, chic and vibey atmosphere for all ages. We went to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday during the time of New Years. We had the kimchi fried rice, fried chicken bao buns, wasabi Ceasar and a few sushi rolls. The bao buns were soft, slightly spicy and full of flavor. The chicken was moist but crunchy at the same time. When the rice came out, it smelled like a vacation in a cast iron skillet. The egg yolk was runny and it balanced out the spiciness of the dish.Outside of the food, our waitress (I wish I could remember her name) was the most kind and attentive. Our glasses of water were NEVER empty. And when we had dessert to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday she noticed none of us were drinking alcohol that night and instead of champagne to celebrate, she gave us Ginger Ale! I thought that was so thoughtful! Every time I visit Sarasota, Kojo will ALWAYS be on my list!
