This is my home town, we frequent several sushi restaurants. This is by far, the best tasting SUSHI, we have experienced!! We were blown away by the quality and the variety of the menu. The bar is just quality, the service excellent. Everything was above our standard, all wait staff was great, we were fortunate to have Abby wait on us, just a delight and very professional!

Katrina was an incredible server, she’s so patient and let me try a few sakes, and helped me navigate the menu. The food was incredible, best old fashioned my husband has ever had. Will be back!

We were excited to try this place for my husbands 40th birthday. The service was great, as were the cocktails. The food however fell short, the crispy tuna app didn’t taste fresh, the rice was very oily and just was not as good as we have had elsewhere, the dumplings were incredibly salty, almost inedible, perhaps the sauce poured tableside was over reduced?, the chicken bao buns were crispy but the chicken was a big chunk of dark meat not a filet which made it awkward to eat and the spicyness of the kimchi pickles overpowered it. After 3 misses with the apps we decided not to stay for the main course. We paid and left. They gave a complimentary dessert and a little card which was appreciated, just wish the food lived up to the hype especially for a special occasion.

I booked the private room for my welcome/rehearsal dinner before my wedding. We had a buffet for about 30 people and the food was phenomenal. The staff was attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend Kojo/Bar Hana for a private event!

This place was amazing! We got here at 4pm and were sat at the giant booths as a couple. We had Ana as our server, who was amazing and knowledgeable. I recommend asking for her if it’s your first time. We had a lot of different foods but the spicy tuna tacos and “Chocolate bar” dessert stole the show!

Favorite item on the menu are the crispy nori tacos! The Hokkaido scallop taco is incredible Really high quality food and the kitchen stays open late. Seriously impressive menu and quality for late night dining in Sarasota which is rare. The cocktails are really interesting as well. Favorite cocktail is the Black + Gold - it has sesame oil which is really different and delicious. Love this place and recommend it to everyone!

I made reservation for my husband's bday through Resy and we sat right away.
The atmosphere and the service was great but we weren't impressed with the foods. The presentation was nicely done and pretty though.
My husband ordered Local shrimp, bacon and kimchi fried rice. He didn't finish it, there's nothing wrong with the food, guess its just not friendly taste for our palate.
I ordered Chinese green, Brussels sprouts and toro crispy rice. The veggies were great but toro crispy rice, the rice was too crispy and harden .
They kindly enough to take it out of our bill. They offered a dessert for our disappointment but we said no, thank you, kindly. I was just thought they'll do a little something for my husband bday since they were asking prior to reservation.
This post not to discourage people to come to try. Maybe we just got something that we don't like. Will try some other time.

Perfect place for after a show. They open late and have many small portion items. I had the scallop taco. The seaweed shell (no pun intended) was crispy but holds up better than a regular taco shell. My friend liked her karaage bao. We shared a half order of mushroom rice in a hot pot. A server came table side to explain and to serve it. Everything was delicious. We each tried a mocktail. They tasted good but not sure if we'd order that again. Our waiter was welcoming and efficient. The other servers were attentive as well. Even though we were one of the last to leave we did not feel rushed.

Amazing head chef and or manager he delt with my online order with a misunderstanding very professional I asked for double steak for meals not knowing the true price which is my fault on that clarification I then got home to the always amazing food but I saw the serving size of the meat and decided to weigh it…. 2.8oz was given to me prior to me ordering all this food I asked what the serving size is they clearly said 6oz so that’s the only downside that it was very skimped on the meat but I swear I’d still order here very decent above mid tier Wagyu

The ambiance and service were excellent—warm, attentive, and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the price point. At $130 for the meal, we expected more: the dishes were overly greasy, too salty, and lacked finesse in presentation.

One person in our party got food poisoning (only one in the group who ate the raw fish). we called the next day and the manager said there was nothing he could do, not even a refund on her roll. Kinda ridiculous that they can’t do the bare minimum.
