Delicious food with amazing customer service. The owner is awesome, she loves her business and you can tell by the quality of food she is serving at this location.
Just back to Sarasota from Hawaii. Check out the pic from the Honokaui, Maui store, we were across the street from them! This is a known restaurant in Hawaii (for many years) with multiple locations throughout the islands and now the mainland.Same food, but much larger portions here and better prices then on Hawaii right now!! Understandable, everything out there is shipped in 2k miles or local.I was able to get katsu chicken with curry sauce delivered it's on the in-store menu but not on doordash.I hear they also have Portuguese sausage for the breakfast food if you ask. That's super exciting since it's so hard to find on the mainland!Everything was spot on as expected and they were able to follow my requests for one of each flavor Hawaiian sun as well as make the katsu curry!Definitely try it out.
Haven’t had good L & L in a long time.. Been away from Oahu since 2020 and man I am so glad I discovered L & L here in Sarasota, Florida. The chicken katsu taste just like how it does at home, the Mac salad is so Ono Very impressed, and the owner and staff are very friendly. You feel the Aloha over there and I love it. Definitely coming back! Well worth the 2 hour drive from Orlando!
It was so nice to be able to come here and have a taste of Hawaii after being gone from the islands for 10 years. So happy they opened! Fingers crossed they decide to open in the space Coast soon, there are so many Hawaiians on this side of the state that would love to have one. We drove from 3 hours away, but it was so worth it. Even got a couple plates to take home for the family.
Great friendly service ? So many good menu choices, but I had to have the iconic Loco Moco that I had seen on Andrew Zimmern's show in Hawaii. Loved it! It's 2 scoops of sticky rice, covered by 2 beef patties, 2 fried eggs, ( I had them over easy) and generously smothered in beef gravy...so good! The meal also came with a traditional Hawaiian side of macaroni salad which was also delicious and flavorful, not plain! I had a side of steamed veggies out of guilt and they were very good, not overcooked. The dining area was neat and clean. The food was served in a timely manner and was nice and hot. Next time I want to try the BBQ mix plate, or the Katsu chicken. I'd recommend L&L to my family and friends!?? Mahalo L&L!
Great food at great prices !!!
This place is amazing ? Food is great, staff is friendly and price is reasonable. Treat yourself to something different, you won’t regret it. Mahalo ?
This place is clean and the service is full of the Aloha spirit. From the generous amount of food, to the friendly and authentic service from the staff, it was like being back home in Hawaii all over again. I tried the BBQ short ribs with Mac salad and rice, and after the first bite I was in tears, literally. The flavor took me back to days cooking on the open grill at the beach in Hawaii with my Pops.Although those days have since long passed, L&L brought me back to that special place, even for a moment❤️ I'm definitely going to make this one of my MUST go to places whenever family or friends are in town, especially if we need a little taste and reminder of home❤️
Been here two times now and every time it gets better. The first time I got the Hawaiian bbq combo and is by far the best I’ve gotten in Florida. This time around I ordered the chicken katsu curry and it didn’t disappoint! The portions are more than enough, perfect leftovers. It took me back to when I lived in Japan, it was that good. It was made from scratch which is something that’s rare in this area. The owners and staff are the best, they have the best customer service I’ve seen. I bought my friends here and they couldn’t agree more, it was all wonderful. The spam musubi, the seafood platter, the shaved ice, the pineapple cake, all of it!
The Chicken Katsu was perfect. Service was good. Staff were friendly. My only gripe is that they didn't have any POG. They had the other Hawaiian Sun drinks but no POG. They also had Kona Brewing beers but usually locals drink Heinekens. 10/10 would recommend for grindz again cahz ?

The mix grill bbq plate is out this world ! This place is excellent… I order on the app and always fresh and ready on time !
Finally a good Hawaiian place in Florida! We are from the west coast and have been severely missing Hawaiian food. This place was everything we could have hoped for and more. The food is great and an amazing price. The Hawaiian shaved ice is the perfect end to the meal. Also this place might be the cleanest restaurant I have ever eaten at. The staff was really friendly and even came over to check and see if we needed anything else while we were eating. These days that service is like gold. I hope this place is around forever! ?
I have been to other L & L Hawaiian Barbecue franchises in California, Texas and this location was the second one for me in Florida. We tried the Jacksonville location and were pretty disappointed with the whole experience. Thankfully I can say that out of all the locations I’ve visited, this is by far the best one! The decor, the service, the food, it was all excellent! This is going to become a frequent stop for us when dropping my stepdaughter off. Thank you!!
Aloha, we enjoyed eating here in 11/2021, however I would suggest in your BBQ mix plate having two beef ribs, three pieces bbq beef and 1 bbq chicken. There was more bbq chicken than the other meats. We visited in June 2021 and it was portioned evenly as I remember it back home. BBQ chicken is a staple you can grind almost anywhere but da the other two is what makes the mix plate onolicious
We just found this looking for a place to grab a quick lunch while visiting family in Sarasota.y girlfriend and I have never had loco moco so we decided to give that a try.We decided to share an order since it comes with 2 scoops of white rice, 2 beef patties with brown gravy, and 2 fried eggs. The rice was fresh and fluffy, the beef patties were well seasoned and the gravy tasted like it had the slightest hint of soy sauce and was very tasty complimenting the mixture of flavors. The macaroni salad was good on its own and didn’t taste “strange” for the few pieces that mixed with the rice and gravy since it was all in the same container. We also tried their 3 different kinds of musubi. There was the perfect amount of eel sauce on each to flavor it without overpowering the flavors of the meats. The katsu was perfectly crunchy and moist on the inside.
