Hidden gem French Bistro in Gulfgate, Sarasota FL. We had a Bonjour Croissant (egg / ham) w/ French potatoes, French Toast and a side of bacon. Couldn’t leave without taking a croissant to go. I want to try one of everything in their bakery case! Their lunch menu looks great. They have Vegan items as well. We’ll be back!

I found L'Opera by chance while getting coffee near by; and I am so glad I did! I tried their almond crossant, and it was the best almond crossant I have had. While the coffee shop next door had ran out of pastries, L'Opera was well stocked, everything was fresh; and best of all, everything home made/in-house. The owner was so kind and attentive, excellent customer service, this will be my to-go place from now.

Very nice and clean, they are not Cuban bakery I don't know who told Google this place is a Cuba. Bakery.
They are from France, so everything the do is French style , very good and little expensive , only one Cake cost me 123.00 dollars it is just a sample to give an idea how expensive it is.

My husband and I had brunch at Opera Bakery last week. We felt like we were eating in France. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The french toast is “ to die for”. We will be back often!

A absolute GEM. The proprietor/chef extraordinaire David greeted us warmly, immediately asked if we’d been there, and lit up when we said no as he went into a thorough yet efficient rundown of the menu… maybe the best almond croissant we’ve ever had, homemade salmon crepe that was to die for, just an amazing experience both in the quality of the food, and especially the quality of the host. We live an hour and a half away but we will DEFINITELY be back!!

Best bread in Florida! Everything was delicious and I do mean everything! Service was fantastic.

Fougasse goat cheese and honey - out of this world!

Croque Madam - better than anything I’ve had in France! Delicious!!

Omelette with side of potatoes - don’t miss the sauce that comes with the potatoes, elevates this simple breakfast to an outstanding flavorful delight!

Take home some pastries and the best baguette in the state. Not kidding.

I cannot express how utterly delighted I am with my experience at L’Opera Bakery Bistro! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly baked croissants and rich coffee enveloped me in pure bliss. This place is a hidden gem in Sarasota, and it deserves every bit of praise it gets—and more!
The croissants are hands down the best I’ve ever tasted—flaky, buttery perfection with a golden crust that melts in your mouth. Paired with their exquisite coffee, it’s a match made in heaven. The entire menu is a masterpiece; every dish I tried was crafted with such love and attention to detail that it felt like a warm hug from a French chef. The ambiance, with its charming decor and inviting atmosphere, only added to the joy of savoring each bite.
The staff’s warmth and genuine care made me feel like a cherished guest, not just a customer. To the team at L’Opera—thank you for creating such a magical experience. This is not just a bakery; it’s a sanctuary of flavor and hospitality. I’ll be back weekly, if not daily, and I’m already telling everyone I know to visit. You’ve set a new standard for what breakfast should be—absolutely unparalleled!

They’re very welcoming and accommodating to my mother’s vegan diet. Most restaurants offer a limited menu during specific time slots. However, they exceeded our expectations by providing a comprehensive dining experience time a day. They also have a vegan selection of pastries and food, which is really great, for those vegan lovers out there! Highly recommend this place authentic homemade food🥰
Also, They made a new pastry that is pistachio and hazelnut croissant! It’s so mouthwatering 😋
