Lamar Lakay is absolutely amazing. Fast service, clean place and excellent environment. Outstanding customer service. They serve with a smile and are very people friendly. The food is amazing, great portion for your money, worth every penny. My husband and daughters eat there all the time. They make the best Legumes, Lalo and Akra in town. I recommend them truly. Go order your food there and thank me later.

Vegetarian options: You can request legumes or Lalo without meat. They have other options as well.
Kid-friendliness: Attentive to children, respectful and they take time to talk to children.

It was a take out place. They had tables. They couldn’t understand English so it was difficult to order and what I wanted they had no cabbage. So I got rice and beans. Put in a to go box bag and all. We were sitting at a table with our Kamala shirts on. They didn’t know who she was. The pork was beyond dry so was the goat and well the rice and beans too. I’m not a meat eater but my friends had it. I had high hopes. The place smelled bad too. I really want to support them at this time. But I tried. I’m only being honest. They need at least one person that can translate !!! I point to the menus but can’t ask questions.

I found this place on google. The Owner was nice at he bigging in helping me getting to the place. I do not usually post reviews. I always call to let people know if the food is good or if they need to adjust the kitchen. Based on the response I got from the owner I decide to give this restaurant 1 star. The food was not good, the rice was not the good quality. I do not know what type of rice they use but it was different. It could have been better. We, Haitians, we cook better than that. I hope he highers a better cook. I called the owner to tell him but he was mad and defensive instead of being appreciative. I hope he learns how to accept criticism good or bad. I did not call to put him down but to tell him the food could have been simply better.

I give 3 stars because the customers was great and the food was good. But anmueyyyy nou frenk tro chè.
Food is too expensive there's a couple Haitian food place around there and they are not that expensive and the food from them are as good as lamar lakay

Only reason I’m giving them two starts is because of there lack of proper communication I was told two different prices over the phone also was up charged by $3-$5 … definitely needs a proper menu with a concrete cost rather than up charging

We found it online and gave it a go. However for it being located in a shopping plaza the prices were too high.

I got the fried goat with rice. While it was nice to have boneless chunks of goat, the meat was really dry. Also while there are not many Haitian places around here, the price point is ridiculous, I spent more than 30 for food that would have been worth it at 1/2 that price. The place is okay, but the overall prices are for a highend restaurant or food that blows my mind, This is neither. I definitely would not find it worth it to return

Disappointed. I called for a catering order late last week and did not get a call back. Then I do an online request, heard nothing. I go to the store and put my catering order for the following Saturday at noon. I go in and the owner tells me he thought it was one o’ clock. I had no time this is for a party. That’s why I physically went down there to confirm. I come back at one and I can’t wait any longer since the expectation was noon. The party is late due to this. I was told 20 more minutes and I had to just not get the order. There was no point in me calling in early to say the order, there was no point in driving back and forth for a catering order that wasn’t even made. This is supposed to be the best Haitian restaurant in Bradenton and I didn’t have a chance to try the food cause they messed up the time. Really really upsetting.
