As avid Italian food enthusiasts, my partner and I were eager to try Le Colonne Restaurant, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. While the ambiance was pleasant, with live music on select days and inviting outdoor seating, the food failed to impress. We sampled the chicken Parmesan with potatoes and the Ravioli Di Ricotta E Spinaci. Both dishes were decent but lacked the "wow" factor we were hoping for. The flavors were average, and we found ourselves wanting more from our dining experience. Regrettably, the underwhelming main courses led us to skip dessert at Le Colonne. Instead, we sought out another spot to satisfy our sweet cravings. Although the restaurant has its charms, including the ambiance and outdoor seating, the lackluster food left us feeling disappointed. While others may enjoy their experience, we won't be rushing back to Le Colonne anytime soon in search of authentic Italian cuisine that truly wows. Dependably good. Great service. To clarify, this restaurant is on st Armand's circle, on LIDO. It is not on Longboat as mentioned in a review.

Feom the moment we walked in to dinner last night, we knew we hit a gem. We were 8 people for a special dinner and were helped by Peta (Peter) and the teat of the very attentive staff. The pepperoni pizza for appetizers which were gluten free and regular were delicious. Everything we ate for dinner was excellent. The lasagna I ate was flavorful. the pasta carbonara and the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and one with shrimp was too nothing along with the ravioli dish and eggplant parm and salads. Beat meal we had on vacation and a must if you are near St Armands Circle. Thanks again Peta for making such a memorable night for us.

The waiter was great. The kitchen was not accommodating at all. Group of 3. One wanted a bowl of pasta w vodka sauce. Kitchen refused. Another ordered lobster ravioli and she asked for a side of sauce bc it was dry, kitchen was not accommodating w that either. Reg marinara sauce was dry. Not enough salt to make it edible. Clams n spaghetti had tiny little clams. Saw where the owners were seated. Asked host to speak to them. He refused my request saying he was the owner then changed his answer to he was the owners son. Only to walk out and see him serving food and clearing tables. So many great places to eat so skip this one. Not worth the money.

One of the waiters brought out Parmesan cheese and my wife asked for him to leave it at the table so she could put it on her food as she ate. This weirdly disrespected him and he asked her if she wanted an application to be a server since she wanted to do everything herself. This kid was beyond rude. Leave him in the kitchen where he belongs not out in the public. Oh yeah and the food was terrible and over priced.

I have been here a few times. My husband loves the homemade lasagna but other than that dish this place is just a very overpriced tourist trap. Very overpriced. Every other item I have tried is below average. The bartender Angelina is lovely but she has to cover the bar, the high tops and all the restaurant drink order which leaves her stretched thin. There are so many great restaurants in the area, don't waste your time here.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in longboat key! The food was absolutely fantastic. Our amazing waitress Deborah helped us select our meals, suggesting the ravioli as it is house made. The fettuccine Alfredo was also amazing and would come back just for that. Will be returning on our next trip to Florida!

I don't care what anyone else says... this place was fantastic.! Pasta cooked perfectly. Delicious desserts. Delightful outdoor seating in busy St Armand's Circle. Excellent service. Recommend!

We had a lovely early dinner on a Friday night. Service was great and both the pasta with clams and eggplant parmigiana were excellent. It was nice to be in a calm atmosphere on a very festive St. Armand's circle.

Super cool restaurant with friendly service. Took a while to receive our entrees and the food is decently priced.

BEWARE. We are locals. Six of us went last nite as couples. At first they refused to give us 3 separate checks. Finally they agreed to separate checks "to be done with us" the waitress's exact words. One of our drinks had a screw in it. An actual screw! When we told the manager he laughed at us. And insinuated we put it there for free drinks. Food was terrible. The chicken parm tasted like fish, most likely from mixed frying oil in preparation or bad oil in general. Pizza was mediocre. Cannolis were amazing however. And to top if off, when our checks came they added the tip to each one without informing us. So we each left a tip on top of the one on the check (they received a double tip for bad food and bad, sarcastic service). We didn't realize the tip was included in our checks until we got home. The only good thing was the saxophone player outside. Skip the bad food and the contaminated drinks at this place (oh and there was no gas for the propane heaters and it was cold out) and just listen to the music from the restaurant across the road (when it opens!). Obviously we won't be back.

Food overpriced and the people and servers who are also the owners are a very bad tempered Italian family. I’m also italian, but these people are plain nasty. They work there as well and try to seem nice to all of us who have money and go there to spend it. Yet, after years of going I realized the owners just keep getting nastier and nastier, so now the food has lost quality and the prices have gone up. Avoid spending your money here, plenty of beautiful places with great service and most importantly real delicious tasting Italian food in St. Armand’s and Sarasota!

We had reservations in the evening. They said they heater was not working and refused to bring another one over. The waitress was extremely rude. She never even came back to see if we wanted more drinks. The food was mediocre at best. We have been here in the passed and something has gone down hill.
