We have lived in Venice for 2 years and finally made it to Southside to explore the neighborhood. Ended up at Lucky 8 by total chance and feel like we won some kind of contest! WOW. We had the smash burger, hand cut fries and re beans and rice. Each item was just perfection. The special sauce on the burger had just the right amount of heat and sweet. The beans had such great flavor and texture with chunks of bacon. Atmosphere is 5 stars. Vibe is just great. We’ll be back to try more menu items!

Popped in based on the reviews and was NOT disappointed. The food is delicious, the service is attentive and wonderful, and the atmosphere gives the impression of finding a little “hole in the wall” place in Louisiana. Highly recommend! (Get the Crawfish Cornbread with pickled jalapeño butter, for sure!)

Newly opened restaurant after osteria(Italian), overall its ok but minus one star for a small selection on the menu and wish they had kids menu.
It was our first time there and we couldn’t have been happier with the food or the service. Mark, one of the owners, makes a heck of a burger (arguably the best in town) and a wonderful shrimp po boy. I also loved having Zappos chips as a side option, everything from the potato salad, to the gumbo, and the artichoke dip was amazing.

What a slice of heaven (NOLA) the best gumbo this world traveler has ever had. The rest of our food is indescribable so good waitstaff A plus Eddie and Bennett and chef Mark gets a 20 and extra 10 for the gumbo. The only downside was dessert didn't have room for a taste 😎
