We are big fans of the Reseda location but we have moved to Westwood and had to try this location. It's fantastic. They delivered quickly, food was delicious and hot. Can not wait to try dining in. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed our experience and tickle tree. Went for Father's Day yesterday and it's a cool and welcoming cafe. The staff is super cool especially the owner. Service alone is 4 stars. I got the dirty chai and hubby ordered a Ethiopian pour over which he loved! Both of loved our drinks. We also enjoyed their breakfast and the price was right! We don't live anywhere near the are but will totally come back and recommend it to anyone looking for some good coffee and yummy food.

Came for my birthday, and boy was it a birthday-worthy experience! This restaurant is so beautiful and the food quite delicious. We sat out back in the garden-looking area and felt like royalty the whole night. Excited to go back!

I have only been once, along, for lunch. I would have given it 5 stars based on the spaghetti and meatballs and mixed salad that day. Service excellent, and nice, clean, modern decor. Real Italian server. HOWEVER, when I tried to return with 3 others 2 days later, the door was locked at noon - no sign of any kind. A phone call gave lunchtime hours and asked to leave a message, which I did. I did the same thing - phone call - the next day. Same result. Since then, I have called twice more, but the calls don’t even connect now. And I drove by once more and the chairs were on the tables and door locked. So, either the very promising restaurant has closed in record time, or else they are very unreliable about opening. So, cannot rate them highly in terms of being available at all.

We were so looking forward to eating here because it’s owned by the same sweet lady who prepares and delivers delicious meals at Dolce Italia. Not the case here. If you’re expecting to arrive and order a pizza you will be disappointed. The friendly manager doesn’t understand English well and kept telling us he would make a fresh pizza but that it would need to be the size of the 6 large, square pieces he’d prepared and placed in the case hours ago. We thought we were getting 2 squares of pizza, 2 salads ( which were correct and fresh) and 2 glasses of wine. Delivered to our table were 2 salads, 2 glasses of terrible ( but cheap $5) wine and a single square of pizza. We ate the delicious salads, the one slice of dry crust pizza ( did have good veggies) and most of our 2 glasses of wine. Paid our bill of $30 ( including tip) and left. This is a true Italian pizza restaurant, with the same pre-made squares you can find on the streets of most cities in Italy. If your expecting to arrive and order a pizza with the ingredients you want, you’ll find yourself in the wrong place. We write very few poor reviews but, unfortunately this restaurant deserves it.

I have had pizza in most of East Coast and Italy and this was by far the best I did not think that anyone made pizza better After my 50 years of checking Pizza

We had possibly the best pizza we’ve ever eaten! Delicious AUTHENTIC Italian pizza with incredibly fresh ingredients. A hidden gem among the many restaurants of Sarasota! But not surprised. Visit the sister restaurant Dolce Italia for phenomenal food!

Luna is owned and operated by the same family that owns Dolce Italia. We have enjoyed Dolce for many years and Luna carries on the tradition of excellent and authentic Italian food. A few things to know about Luna. The large pizza is huge. They accept credit cards and the owner will greet you with a smile!

We have wanted to try Luna Rossa for some time for two reasons: Luna is owned by the owner of Dolce Italia, the TA No. 1 rated restaurant in Sarasota; and, Luna has stellar reviews on TA. Luna is very small with only 7 tables. Last night there was only one employee available to deal with customers. He had to man the counter, answer questions about the confusing menu, take orders, cook the food, serve the food and drinks and prepare the bills. Even though there were only 7 seated customers, it was an unmitigated disaster. There were 4 of us: my wife and me, our son and his girlfriend. My son ordered the Arugula salad. He was told there was none . His girlfriend ordered a salad with goat cheese. It came without goat cheese . My wife ordered a single slice of pizza. She received 4. My son’s girlfriend never received her pizza. The server handed to me as I was the last one of us going out the door. We took it home and threw it out. The food was not very good. Certainly not the quality described in the 63 five-star reviews on TA. As the meal went on, the server became increasingly rude. All 4 of us were losing patience. Our son got up and went to the counter to pay the bill. It was $ 115. He said it looked wrong, but he would have been happy to pay twice as much to simply get out of there. This was without a doubt the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Needless to say, we will never go to Luna again.

Best pizza in Sarasota!

Truly scrumptious, having lived in Italy and New York City it came as great surprise to me that this little place in Sarasota would have hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life.

Pizza was excellent, and owner/staff was helpful and nice.

I was born and grow up in Italy, when I found LUNA ROSSA I could not believe on my luck... This is a little jewel in middle of Sarasota. Every time I go in to get some pizza it remind me my youth in Italy... The pizza is amazing, thin crust, tasteful, all the main ingredients are fresh and well prepared... If you are looking for a quick light lunch or dinner you want to check LUNA ROSSA and by the way they do not have only pizzas, they serve sandwiches, pastas and more...

Tiziana, the owner and chef of the very popular Dolce Italia in Gulf Gate, has done it again! The pizza and pasta dishes here have the same high quality ingredients and wonderful taste as her entrees at Dolce Italia. We love the pizza, the way you can pick various slices and the way it is served in smaller, shareable pieces. We followed the recommendations of the friendly Italian staff and ordered two different slices. We were very pleased. This will be our new go to pizza place!

pizza al taglio, just like in Rome or Naples! Explosion of flavors, fresh ingredients, juicy, hot and delicious. For a quick snack or a filling meal, Luna Rossa will not let you down.
