We discovered Maemi a year ago and have been delighted by this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Its low key atmosphere may deter people from giving it a try but it has become one of our go-to places in Sarasota. The portions are big and the food, delicious! I highly recommend Maemi!

I'm not very familiar with Peruvian food, but the owner was super friendly and helped me navigate the menu. I tried the ceviche for a starter and it was spectacular, fresh and delicious ? main course was Lomo Salgado which is sautéed steak and onions and peppers with white rice and fries, super good. Homemade juices are delicious as well, would definitely recommend ?

I recently ate here and had the papa a la huancaina and anticuchos and both were exceptional. I could easily have been sitting in a restaurant in the Miraflores or Barranco neighborhoods in Lima, Peru.
