Marcel DW Reviews
Amazing from start to finish! Had dinner last night with 4 other ladies and EVERY single dish was my favorite! So hard to choose! The drinks, the service, the menu, the food…couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Don’t miss this place if you’re in town! Thank you Chef Jeremy!
What a culinary delight. I could eat everything on the curated menu but favorites include the octopus, cauliflower, ceviche, sweetbreads, and scallops. There aren’t many places where the owner and chef will greet you and come tableside to ensure your culinary experience is top notch. My first time was with a large group and there was not one complaint and only empty plates left our tables. The service and ambience is magnifique and I can’t wait to go back especially with my...read full review
The best restaurant we have found in Sarasota. I am a very accomplished home chef and I applaud the excellent and creative dishes we have had at Marcel DW. We have been there with parties of 6 and 7. The wow factor for the groups was universal. One of the few restaurants that we will continually go back to. Many kudos!

Marcel DW offers a delicious and eclectic dining experience with a French influence, making it the closest to European dining in downtown Sarasota. The chef prepares dishes from individual ingredients, ensuring carefully composed flavors and pleasing presentations. Highlights include Brussels sprouts lyonnaise, beets, Moules frites, salmon, snapper, scallops, hanger steak, and the special tiramisu dessert. The restaurant features small plates like the avocado smashed salad, ceviche with a tropical twist, and tempura cauliflower. Customers appreciate the good value, especially during special menus like the three-course dinner for $45, which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Many reviewers recommend the grilled octopus, scallops, and rack of lamb, noting the food is generally great, with big portions and friendly service. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is cheerful, contributing to a fabulous dining experience that feels like a home-cooked meal elevated to fine-dining artistry. The menu is excellent without being overwhelming, with every option creative and interesting. While some find the wine pour could be more generous, Marcel DW remains a go-to restaurant for many, offering vegetarian options, an excellent wine list, and cocktails. Overall, it is considered one of the better dining spots in Sarasota, with a focus on quality and flavor, and the speakeasy next door adds a new layer of atmosphere and enjoyment.
