The male cashier at the bar by the buffet who was taking orders and running cards (not making drinks) blatantly ignored me twice and served people that were behind me in line. Very disrespectful.

Great place to eat before seeing a show at Van Wezel

In the past there were tables for 2, 4 and groups according to your reservation. This time all tables were for 6 and you were seated with strangers. We didn't really like this. But the buffet itself, as in the past, was excellent with great variety and first rate quality. Come hungry.

It’s a buffet but it’s organized and delicious warm food. Prime rib perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chicken masala tender and saucy. Salads and bread, and small bite sized desserts. Really convenient location and the Diet Coke was fresh in a glass of ice. We really liked it and will do it again when we come to this theater.

I've been a resident of Sarasota for a few years, but I haven't really had any outstanding Italian cuisine at any of the Italian eateries. a friend suggested. When I went there, I must admit that the excellent cuisine and service left me quite satisfied. I'll use it every week from now on without a doubt! Very Pleased! The chefs and business owners are very welcoming! To prevent your car from smelling on the drive home, they even wrap your leftovers in high-quality containers. An excellent dinner experience all around!

We came to Sarasota to watch a soccer showcase, and we were in the mood for some delicious Peruvian food. On Google Maps, I discovered this quite charming location and wanted to check it out. We weren't let down at all! This was the cut of the absolutely tender ribeye steak. Fresh and tasty pesto pasta, known as Tallarin Verde, was served. My fish with Lo Macho sauce, too? Excellent! It can be challenging to make fresh calamari delicate, as my wife noted. Overall, a straightforward but great experience. If we return to town, we will definitely try again.

Yikes. Even cheaper tasting than their downtown location. Catering is not their Forte. Food is a second thought

Courtesy of Karen from Mattison's Riverwalk we had a lovely New Year's Eve dinner @Mattison's Bayside inside the Vanwezel. The food and service were terrific.

Had Dinner at Van Wezel before attending Come From Away. Dinner was absolutely delicious!! The food was wonderful and we made sure to let the chef know. Our waitress Annalia was an absolute delight and made sure that the dinner was the start of a perfect evening. And if you have never seen Come From Away, it is delightful, emotional and quite memorable - and be sure to bring a hanky; you'll need it.

Do NOT waste your money. There was a time that Mattison‘a did a great job at the Van Wezel. Where to begin. Cheese and crackers- no crackers. Cold bread. Lousy butter. Brie on croute- cold. Cheese not melted. Tomato /coke salad- rotten squishy tomatoes. The main course table. The rib roast was fine. The au jus- cold and basically water with a tiny bit of pan drippings. The potatoes COLD. The chopped ‘sautéed onions” totally cold. The dessert “table”- a joke. Sad. So very sad. And assuming this speaks to the mattison management I will NOT be eating at their 2 restaurants.!

Have dinner there before the Concert's at Van Wezel Performing Arts. Buffet style, excellent salad & cheese bar. Soup of the day was very good not salty, they always have a roast, chicken offering, salmon n fresh steamed veggies. Price is reasonable n staff is super accommodating. Beautiful view of the way a gorgeous sunsets. Chef Frank does an excellent job and has the best salad bar in the area.

I was so disappointed walking into a banquet hall. The food was overpriced and very mediocre. The service was terrible and it was a buffet! I love Mattison's DT.
