Beautiful interior. Very polite and efficient staff. The food was very good, perhaps a little bland for my taste.

We haven’t come here for about a year for two reasons; the noise level and concern over the restaurant inspection reports. We came last night with two other couples. The noise level wasn’t as bad sitting upstairs but it didn’t feel like the air conditioning was working and it was quite warm. Our server was not very friendly. My wife asked several times for more ice cubes and never got them. Five of the six of us at the table enjoyed their meals except for the Caesar salads which were not good. I was very disappointed in the pizza I ordered. There were two bottles of water on the table. We were not asked if we wanted them but we were charged for them. In all not a very positive dining experience.

The food is AMAZING!! Service was attentive considering how busy it was. The decor and design feels like you're in Italy. Definitely make a reservation!

Here are the reasons I only gave 4 stars:

The valet only parking situation causes a stand still in the driveway and cars are backed up on 41 trying to enter. It took 15 min just to get onto the restaurant property. We were there for 7pm rez on Friday night, so perhaps it's not always that bad.

The entrance to the restaurant needs to be redesigned as soon as possible. This was a nightmare. It's a single door entrance in which people are arriving and leaving which causes a constant traffic jam. Added to that nightmare is that the hostess stand is immediately on the left as you walk in. Therefore you have several people at the entrance with nowhere to go to be able to move out of the way for people who are leaving.

Also, it's really loud. And although it was a great date experience, there are not any cozy tables and it's hard to have conversation over the noise.

I will be back though, just perhaps not at peak dining time

Parking: It's valet only and the line backs up on 41.

Kid-friendliness: No. There were a several kids there, but it really isn't a kid friendly restaurant. I'm guessing the parents/ kids were on vacation without a babysitter.

Wheelchair accessibility: Due to the layout of the restaurant and how close the tables are together, it really isn't wheelchair friendly

This place is very unique as a showing in Sarasota, representing a more uncompromising showing of Italian culture than most other places around:

The small property this place is on forces valet parking to be the only option here, which is unfortunate. You are then greeted by a beautiful interior with a two-tiered dining area with great views of the kitchen and artwork on the wall which makes a great aesthetic.

The Friday night I dined with my parents showed mostly good food and expectedly sluggish service which never seemed to speed up as people began filing out around 8:30.

When the food finally came out though, it proved to be quite good, with the fried street food proving to be an incredible appetizer alongside the bread service. I was very happy with my zuppeta allo scoglio, but my family was much less impressed which their pizza which seemed to miss expectations.

Their dessert offerings are also quite great with the cannolis not disappointing at all.

It depends on what you're used to. The bread is always cold and hard, the food is ok, and the service is terrible.

Two of us ate at this restaurant. Food was terrible. Two of us got sick from the food. Not Italian food! They use bad oils, and food is not fresh! My stomach was upset from the scallops and shrimp. My husband vomited from the carpaccio and salmon dishes. Stay away if you don’t want to get sick

We have eaten here many times but tonight the food was sub par. Both the pizza and the pasta dish was very greasy. We both did not finish. We sat at the bar and the couple next to us said it looked greasy.

Very mixed on the food here. Really loved the seafood pasta but the pizza we got (sausage) was soaked and wet in the middle which was not good. The service is great and the atmosphere is very lively. Maybe visit again but don’t get the pizza?

Our service was just ok. Couldn't understand her at all. The owner of the restaurant is awesome. The octopus was not what I was hoping for. Didn't eat but 3 pieces

It is allowed to take tips in addition to what I paid. I realized it 3 days later on my bank account. It's theft! I don't recommend it at all!
Dinner last night in this restaurant, well dinner is a big word because we couldn't eat what was on our plates. The cook had to drop the salt on our plates, it was inedible.
Two pasta dishes and two starters: 86 dollars, like throwing money out the window. I do not recommend this restaurant and I would let those around me know about it.
Go on your way!

Although the food was good the waiter on 3 occasions gave us wrong information of items on menu. Worst of all, he didn't seem to care. Then we asked for separate checks and he gave one check. Annoying but I'd go back anyway.
