This neighborhood gem will be greatly missed since they are closing this week. We'll be on the lookout for the chef opening in another location. Everyone at the restaurant was mourning this loss but at the same time there was a festive mood with everyone celebrating their success and great service throughout the years. It was the best dining experience in terms of food, service and atmosphere. It was the most fun evening!!!! You'll be missed. With much ❤️

Great little bistro with a cool vibe and friendly staff. Very modest, but interesting menu as well as wine selection. Our choices were absolutely delicious and we can't wait to return with friends to share our experience. These folks definitely have it together!

We live in Sarasota but this was our first time at Osteria Southside. It immediately became a favorite. The food was great .... two of us had an excellent sea bass dish and the others had pastas they liked just as much. Katie, our server, was the best: cheerful and knowledgeable. We'll be back!

If you're looking for traditional Italian food in a comfortable atmosphere then you must try Osteria at Southside. The food is served in a traditional manner vs the so-called Italian restaurants in Sarasota who feel they need to make the food "foo foo". The prices are very reasonable and the service is superb. Support a local restaurant and give them a chance. The restaurant is small so be sure to make a reservation.
Specials are worth a visit. Beef short ribs over risotto. The best.

Had a fantastic meal at a small hole in the wall on Osprey near SMH. Osteria! (Not related to waterside.)
The Italian food was amazing. I’m hard to please but it was the best chicken parm I’ve had.
Their sauce amazing. Garlic bread delicious. Small place. OMG!
I got a huge plate, looked at it and said I can’t eat all of this! Thirty minutes later, a bottle of wine and all the food was gone!
Do not overlook this gem!

Loved our first experience. We were warmly greeted at the door, treated to creative cocktails at the bar and an outstanding dinner complete with attentive and friendly staff. Thank you for a memorable evening.
The Sunday Dinner was really good, sausage, meatball, broccoli, pork rib in San Marzano sauce over rigatoni!! My wife had the Sea Bass and it was excellent. Both Katie and Alexa tended to our needs. We will be back!

This place is a true hidden gem. Wonderful friendly service, good food and exceptional value. Could not make any negative comments. Burrata salad was tasty, almost too much cheese. Garlic bread right out from broiler was perfect. Both pasta dishes we had were ideal. Absolutely terrific value for this excellent meal.
