Palm Avenue Deli Reviews
I am quite a discriminating foodie. I have traveled a lot in my life. just as the true judge of any bbq spot for me is the quality of the beef brisket, for delicatessens it is the quality of their pastrami. Palm Avenue has the very best I have ever tasted, best by far locally as well as nationally. most tender, best seasoned. it is amazing, I could eat it every day. we are lucky to have this in Sarasota
Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
Pastrami Sandwich was delicious! However, I ordered ”:NY Piled High” and it was not “NY Carnegie Deli Piled high. “ It was $28.00 about the same as the price in NY for a sandwich which was too big to eat at one sitting. I really didn’t expect it to be as big as Carnegie (when it was still around) but it should be bigger to boast as NY Piled high . I cant imagine how small the regular one must be! Palm Avenue Deli offers genuine deli food in an upscale atmosphere with excellent service. Customers describe it as a home away from home and praise it as the best Jewish deli outside of NYC. The pastrami sandwiches are reported as off the chain, and the service is noted to be fantastic, with everyone being kind and friendly. Standouts include the Pastrami Reuben (The 1871) and the highly praised potato salad. The double New Yorker Pastrami is considered to die for and a must-try for anyone who appreciates NYC delis. Guests recommend trying the salmon, which is super flavorful, and cheesecake as well. Although the pastrami was excellent, some noted that the deli does not sell meat by the pound to-go, which they find surprising. The ambience is retro and fun, with unique decor that creates a great vibe. The menu has plenty for everyone, featuring ingenious and delicious flavor combinations. One reviewer enjoyed an egg cream for the first time, which was perfectly balanced with homemade syrup, and another tried the chocolate egg cream, made with milk chocolate and soda water, which was surprisingly delicious. Customers look forward to returning and trying breakfast items like eggs Benedict and a bagel with smoked salmon and scallion cream cheese, which were described as fresh, flavorful, and made with care.
