0/10 – I Will Never Be Back! Let me tell y’all about this garbage experience at Phillippi Creek Oyster Bar in Sarasota, Florida. We ordered the so-called “Famous King Seafood Platter” for $120 — and babyyyy it was the NASTIEST seafood I have ever had in my life. The lobster? RUBBERY and overcooked like it was boiled last week. The coleslaw was old and dry, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since Tuesday. The calamari? Salty and straight trash. Not one thing on that platter was edible. Our server had the nerve to ask why we weren’t eating — so here comes the manager like a bat outta hell, not to apologize or ask if something was wrong, but to immediately ASSUME we were trying to get some free food. EXCUSE ME?? We were giving her feedback so maybe she could let the chef know they’re serving up microwave-level mess. But nope, she came in hot with the wrong tone, the wrong energy, and the wrong approach. And the worst part? She only looked at me — the ONLY Black person at the table — like I’m the problem. Ma’am, you need a crash course in customer service and cultural sensitivity, ASAP. That little “free drinks” offer? Girl, F*** yo drinks. We didn’t come here to drink our disappointment away. We came for good food and decent service — and got NEITHER. Terrible food. Rude service. Nasty attitude. If you want to ruin your night and overpay for trash seafood, be my guest. But as for me? I will NEVER step foot in that place again. Ever. Do. Better.

Horrible, bland, watery food and a garbage dump’s worth of flies. It was great the first time we were here. Not sure what happened.

Having loved this restaurant for years had to come back. Drove 35 mins off route to find a unflavored grouper. Horrible! zero taste. We had one blacked and one grilled both tasted the same- bland. Really not one ounce of flavor. All our gosh dishes including the third dish of a grouper sandwich was awful. I’m not sure how you can’t mail a grouper filet and charge 32 bucks. As must as this place is nostalgic for my family and has been around for years it’s a joke if you want anything more than fried fish.

Can't go wrong here. BUFFALO SHRIMP IS ONE OF A KIND and try the Seafood Tower if you got deep pockets, WELL WORTH IT!! ...& THE STAFF: ????????????????

Been making a least one or two stops here each summer for many years. Nostalgia for our family. Quality had been declining but this trip, it was vastly improved. Wish we had time for another stop this year.

Love this place! Great seafood and price was reasonable! Had the stuffed oysters for appetizer and stuffed shrimp for dinner and my friend had the seafood paella! Everything was yunmy!

Great location. Sit outside on the deck for good views, but keep in mind it’s hot. The place is not fancy. You will sit at worn picnic tables with paper towels as your napkins. Food used to be really good, but it’s gone downhill a little bit lately. Smaller portions, lacking flavor, etc. Service is usually good.

$110 for the mariners fry boat. Only the top had a couple of lobsters, 5 shrimp, bunch of calamar, and the bottom half was full of french fries. I don't mind paying good money for something that's top-notch, but that's totally overpriced, I don't appreciate being robbed.
I won't be back. Bartender is pretty good tho.

So I used to go here back in the 90's when I lived here and it was great. NOW IT STINKS!! I ordered the Seafood Gratin and when it came there was 3 fried balls of mostly filling swimming in a gross sauce. I complained and wasn't offered an option. I didn't eat it. I picked thru and found about 5 baby shrimp and nothing else. My wife ordered the steamed shrimp and they were overcooked and sitting in water. If you like good food go somewhere else. Service and view were fine.
