My husband and I grew up in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale eating at Wolfie’s and the Rascal House. We know live in Tampa. We were so excited when I saw Thesandwichmaven post if your Sarasota location in instagram. We loved our meal and will be back!

An excellent Jewish deli experience and a full bar! What could be better? All the expected delicacies deliciously prepared. When I visited, the service was also excellent. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Succulent corned beef, tasty chopped liver, tangy pickles and beets. Don't miss it.

Corned beef was thick and tasteless. Wound up taking most of it home and feeding it to the dog . Chicken soup was good but I have to rate a Jewish deli by its corned beef!

Wolfie's food was very good., but was a tad more expensive than I anticipated.
We were seated right away, but the service was slow. I only saw one waitperson working.

The food was ok. Not bad, but not the taste experience expected. The corned beef was sliced too thick and the roll was tasteless. Service was good and outdoor dining was very nice. Was hoping for more.

Disappointed, order 1 corned beef, & 1 pastrami.
The meet was to thick and tasteless, NOT NY style (Kats).
Seems it was microwaved, and not kept in a steamer. Place is clean and nice set up.Not worth the drive from Venice

First and last time at this place
There is nothing like good deli food to warm the soul. Enthusiastically had drove over a half hour to this establishment to sample water. Appeared to be a delightful menu. We ordered to take our food. It was a weekday. When I arrived, there was an unmanned takeout counter. There was one woman ahead of us and she waited an inordinate amount of time while people walked around ignoring us. I had phoned in my order and it should have been a quick pick up.

My wife ordered chicken schnitzel. I’m assuming it had been premade and put back into a pan to heat it up. It was overcooked and, frankly, desiccated. Rather than gold brown it was dark, and the edges had to be trimmed off and discarded. Somebody was not watching the pan.

She also ordered matzoh ball soup. What could be better than real chicken soup.
The soup was so salty as if it had been sitting heated all day and it was evaporated. It lacked the taste of good chicken soup. The matzoh ball was OK, but sitting in the poorly made soup did nothing to enhance this favor. Good chicken soup, made with real chicken should gel up when it is refrigerated. This did not. I suspect this soup had never seen an actual chicken.

I ordered a Ruben sandwich. As you can see in the picture there was essentially no dressing. The bread and the meat were all of good quality. The sauerkraut should have been washed, but it was probably used right out of the can. To be honest, this is not unusual and so I would not subtract “points” for that.

Whoever owns this place needs to be around more

Finally made it here! Used to go to Rascal House in Miami. This Sarasota revival is excellent. The rolls and tins of pickles on the table are missed but i get it...it's 2026. The food was great! Missed the matzah ball soup so much. Will be back when travels put me back in the area.
