So disappointed I order my lunch to Go and when I opened my Fry potatoes they were raw like if they don’t notice how they cook.

I was there for a mini 8th grade reunion with spouses. We had not seen each for 53 years. This is only a so-so place. Our nachos were cold and tasted old. We had to wait for serving utensils. Other dishes were too cold or too hot. Our server did a great job of keeping us hydrated. I just didn't feel anything special about Geckos.

Nice bar, efficient service. I had a fried chicken sandwich special that was REALLY overcooked. I did not send back because my wife would end up eating alone.

Came here with my son after spending the day at St. Armands Key. He ordered the pretzel bites and I ordered the asian spicey cauliflower. Both were very good. We also each ordered the bison burgers. They were good, but personally the one I had I Chicago was better...had more taste. Over all....definitely worth the trip to have a meal here.

Nice place. Helpful staff. Healthy pours on Happy Hour wines. On Monday the burger and a substantial side are $5, total for both. Good tasting too. An inexpensive, but good, place to eat.

My husband and I met another couple at Gecko's. We ate outdoors on a pleasantly cool day. Service was fast and efficient despite the patio being quite full. Great food I had a flatbread that was one of the best I’ve had in Sarasota. The bison burger was delicious also. And portions were generous.

Regular monthly group visit. Sadly it gets lower and lower. Nice staff but over cooked indifferent food. Tonight 2 orders onion rings look and tasted like cinders. Didn’t complain. Wrongly so. My medium rare burger over cooked, returned and same over cooked second time. Knocked off the bill but point missed. No I don’t want a 3rd try. Maybe using smaller burgers, seems like it. Not expecting anything gourmet but just get a simple burger. Sadly not.

Stopped at Rocket Dog for a late evening quick bite to eat, and wanted to try their Gourmet Dog's. They have a nice menu selection of about a dozen different Gourmet Dog's as well as some sandwiches and salads. Without knowing how big the dogs were decided to order Two (2), and they were bigger then expected, so ate one and took one home for later. The dog's are pretty good size, and with the fixing's and chips, one will probably satisfy your craving, unless you are real hungry or want to take one home. Enjoyed the selection of different ones and choose the # 6 and # 10, as they were to be a bit spicy, and they were. Rocket Dog is more of a Pub Grub type of place to grab something easy and quick, and have some beer, or soda to wash it down. You can also order gourmet fries, or have their homemade chips, which they say are bottomless. The staff was fast and efficient, and friendly, and the food took about 10 - 15 minutes to get, but it was nice and hot when brought to the table. Of course you can also get food to go if desired .... they are located on Shaw just about a block west of Highway 41 .... if you enjoy Hot Dogs and Brat's, then you need to try Rocket Dog, will not be disappointed ....

Shared the ultimate cobb salad with extra chicken on the side with the wife. Was advised to share a bottle of wine instead of ordering by the glass. salad 10 out of 10 wine also 10 out of 10 . Sevice great and all in all pricing was good. One of my favourite places to eat in Sarasota Atmosphure in this Geckos is always great
Just like anywhere else, it's only as good as the people who work there. We normally go to the Gecko's at 41 and Stickney Point and have ALWAYS had a good time. They were closed for remodeling, so we thought we'd try the one on Hillview. Big mistake. The restaurant itself is disappointing compared to our "usual" Gecko's. The hostess stopped short of rolling her eyes when we asked to be seated near a TV ... hello, you're supposed to be a sports bar, no? My husband got a beer, hard to screw that up. I got a margarita, no salt and a veggie burger, no pickles. Got a margarita with salt and a veggie burger that had no lettuce or tomato but hey, it had pickles! Not sure how you screw up a pretty simple order. I wolfed it down, we paid, and got the hell out of there and won't be coming back. Guess if our normal place is temporarily closed, we'll just have to wait for it to open!

From the day Gecko's first opened it's doors they have been consistantly reliable for good food and plenty of it. I eat there frequently. Still the best wings, and reubans around.

Tried the "Superfan," a basic dog - excellent. All-beef, perfectly cooked, nice poppyseed bun. Chips included in the price are excellent. Dogs are just a little pricey, but worth it. Will definitely return for 2 more dogs.

My husband loves hot dogs of any kind, so he was in love! He had a bacon wrapped, deep fried sausage. I had the Alison. It was pretty good. The very best was the sweet potato fries with honey and cinnamon, Amazing!!!!
