Beautiful decor and ambiance embrace you at Sage restaurant. I was eyeing this place for months. Would it stand up to my expectations?Started out the evening on the rooftop bar with a fireplace. The bar was casual, mostly covered, and nice.Surrounded by family, lifelong friends, and new acquaintances, we celebrated my 50th birthday! When we walked into the restaurant, the "air" filled with beautiful music from a solo violinist. He played soulful modern tunes, which encapsulated the memories. The Thai Bouillabaisse and Porter house steak were a MUST! The porter house steak was HUGE. More than enough to feed two. My only wish was a side of risotto, less butter, and more vegetables. Otherwise, the steak was cooked to pure perfection.Honorable mentions were Seared Halibet with Wasabi Plumb Sauce and Yakisiba Noodles with grilled chicken.Thank you to the Sage restaurant for cooking up a wonderful 50th birthday ?

Fit Is A Lifestyle

This review is specifically for the DJ, who really did not know his crowd. We went to the roof top bar for some after dinner drinks. The genre of the music was ok to listen to, but just wasn’t the type you could dance to. This was evident by the fact that only a few folks were dancing, and that groups of people would show up, listen to the music for a few minutes, and then leave. This process repeated itself and the DJ didn’t seem to care. He must have been playing his music style as he was the only dancing behind his turntable. Since we all got drinks the moment we got there, we stayed for a while with the hopes that the music genre would eventually change; which it did not. Next time we go there, we will follow suit of what others did. Listen to the music first and then if it is danceable, buy the drinks and stay there.

Excellent! My wife and I shared our 10 year anniversary at Sage last night. The staff, the service, the drinks and food were all top notch. I ordered the Thai bouillabaisse and my wife ordered the duck confit. Both were delicious. Cassie was our waitress and made the night extra special with her service. Thank you Sage!

Fantastic upscale restaurant in downtown Sarasota. Seasonal menu that includes a wide range of modern takes on classic dishes. Beautiful dining room, and two bars - one inside and one on the nice rooftop patio. Delicious craft cocktails as well. Great place for a special occasion. Complimentary valet service as well.

Wanted to love this place. We returned with friends after last dinner here, 7 months ago.High season, Surprised Sat night had 20% Diner capacity at 7 pm, the Food quality had deteriorated , New chef Brett nice guy.The 2 ducks and pate were very disappointing in flavor and skin quality. I had the seafood bouillbaise, nice flavor, lobster tail, 1 shrimp, 1 scallop, not much broth, requested more. Seemed a bit stingy for $48. Steak a big winner. Chocolate dessert very good, blueberry cheesecake a dud. Not much local Fla seafood, strange.

The cocktail was great but the entree was less than mediocre. Tough, stringy chicken and only the flavor of soy sauce. For the price this should have been much better. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Atmosphere was great, music didn’t match the restaurant theme. Drink menu was a weird stretch to be different. Whiskey choices were poor and overpriced,. Tequila s, vodka, and wine list were good. Food menu the same and was mediocre at best, again trying too hard to be different.

Been wanting to try Sage for sometime. Since we knew it is pricey we decided to celebrate our Anniversary here. Very disappointed. Overpriced for what we received. Food lacked seasoning. We expected small portions but the pork was literally 3-4 small bites in the entree. Service and staff were very good. Drinks and presentation also great. We had 2 appetizers, 2 entree meals and 2 desserts and were hungry when we left. We did like the rooftop bar. We would never eat in the main dining room again. Not worth it.

The food is amazing. We shared 2 plates. Great way to try different things. The service was above and beyond great. We felt spoiled. We will be returning soon.

I ate alone at 5:00p and it was super comfortable. The food was amazing. Go with the soup if you can and just enjoy the whole experience! At 6:30p it started to become pretty boisterous. I felt better dining alone at 5:00p for sure. Expensive and will be back!

Really overpriced. Ordered the $100 steak. Had to send back. Very overcooked. The Bouillabaisse was a tiny portion Caesar salad was soggy.
