I have a question. I noticed that the cost for a plate at the restaurant is cheaper than the cost for the same dish when ordering through Doordash. I am not talking about the fees and extra store charges. For example, the pad thai at the restaurant is $14.95. On doordash is $18.95. That is without all the extra fees we are charged. Doordash customer service told me that it is the Restaurant that increases the cost for the dish. Why is this? Aren't we already getting charged extra fees for the store?

The BEST restaurant in Sarasota for sushi, Thai, and more! The salmon avocado hand rolls are huge, delicious, fresh and beautiful. The fresh rolls are fantastic with delicious dipping sauces—it comes with a peanut sauce and a sweet & sour sauce. We love having the options. The massaman curry is super yummy with lots of veggies and generous portions. It could easily feed 2 grown adults. And don’t leave without trying their made-in-house coconut ice cream. It’s phenomenal.

The service is beyond reproach—everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and they have a passion for the quality of their food, which i appreciate. Service is fantastic and accommodating. The interior is really cute…spacious (definitely accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, etc), and well decorated without being too fussy or stuffy. I love how they decorate for holidays—it makes it fun and festive. Family, date night, group and single-diner friendly. Everyone can feel comfortable here.

This is our go-to spot…it’s hard to choose another place when we are picking a dining option. Siam Gulf never disappoints!

I’m so glad my husband and I found this place! The food was amazing! The ingredients were fresh and provided just the right amount of spice. Generous portions. The waitress was attentive and the food came out fast. The atmosphere is relaxing and very well decorated. Very clean. We will be back soon.

This is not truly my idea of authentic Thai food but owners are young, Americans of Thai descent. Maybe they have a concept for a fast casual Americanized version of Thai food. You can order individual plates with a pile of noodles that come with miso soup. No typical individual Asian dishes to share, rather a choice of a single portion “lunch or dinner combo”. We did not try the sushi. The flavors were mostly of salt and fat with none of the complex aromatic herbs and spices of really great Thai cooking. No discernible basil or cilantro or other spices that I love about Thai cuisine. The broth was flat with no depth. I wondered if they bought items and sauces from an Asian market premade and then doctored them a bit and assembled. The food seemed designed for mass appeal and max profit. Our lettuce wrap was a small wedge of iceberg lettuce served with some oily, salty chopped meat and a handful of crispy rice noodles from a package. The lettuce was too small to use as a wrap. Maybe they are hoping to make it a franchise chain because people definitely seem to love it and that is the vibe. The place was packed! We went because of the many positive reviews (the patrons were all relatively young Americans, not a single Asian, who maybe like fast, salty food). I wish someone had posted this other point of view and that is why I am taking the time to post. It’s a matter of taste really. If you want a big plate of noodles, with very few vegetables, plenty of oil and a choice of a salty, chopped protein, it’s your place. But we were very disappointed.

First time here, but had good ratings. Food was awesome - massaman curry, house salads with the amazing ginger dressing, and drunken noodles. Portions on the big side (for me), great flavors and nicely done interior.

Won’t return.

We saw this one on our dinner at Mariscos Azteca Mexican.

A L shaped restaurant, that serves Japanese and SE Asian cuisine. Quiet on a Sunday evening. Two pleasant young women (both with long pony tails) work the room.

Service is so so: trying for good five minutes to tell the server (seeing her come and go) that the Pinot noir turned; my cab is ok.
“How old is this bottle?”
She said, “normally is less than a week.”
Oh well.
Their stems are not bad.
Two little kids, a boy and a girl are behind the bar counter. I’ve mixed feelings for kids in a work place …
Foods are fine:
Thai lettuce Wrap - minced pork on the sweet side; have to ask for spicy sauce
Sashimi style dinner - ok
Spicy tuna roll - something crunchy which makes the roll interesting

A Caucasian man comes and goes in the bar counter, sporting ‘vineyard vines’ t shirt . I’m between foods, so I googled it: not a vineyard but a clothing store. Oh well, just learnt one more thing today: thanks.

Bathroom door lock - push in.
