Stopped by mid afternoon on Saturday. Both my wife and I had a Sweet Crepe. Half way through mine I discovered a long black hair with turned me off. It was taken by staff ( 1 counter lady then pulled her hair up.) manager came by and said they have no idea how it got there as it was to long to belong to anyone working there. We were not offered a discount or that crepe for free( only ate half of it.) Bill was just the total on the remote card reader. Needless to say we won’t be going back.
First I should mention that I am French and I know a good croissant when I taste one. The croissants at So French are the best in the Sarasota /Bradenton area. The crepes are as good as any you would eat in Bretagne. In short if you want to taste what good French cuisine is like at a reasonable price this is your place.The baked goods are fresh and prepared by the owners daily. The owner is a very good pâtissière and has an assortment of desserts also available for take out. I highly recommend this cafe.

I went back to the cafe a few days later for lunch… super yummy! Great salad with goat cheese and perfectly cut tomatoes that had so much flavor. And I ordered escargot! Didn’t expect that to be on menu, and it was a garlicky basil treat especially with the baguette. Perfect amount of crunch and chew! The lemon tart topped with a meringue and fancy coffee drink was a great little finish Go there and enjoy!

The staff were so friendly and funny that I couldn't help but recall fond memories of Rennes and how caring the people were there. It makes me feel I could stroll down the street and into the Opéra de Rennes.

My daughter and I shared the Dubai chocolate crêpe with strawberries (gluten-free with buckwheat flour, hence the color of the crêpe). Can I just say I want to rickroll myself right now, because I’m never gonna give you up. 😅That was the best crêpe I have ever had in America. Unbelievable. Delicious, salty, sweet, rich… A foodie experience. So in love. The service is amazing. Really interesting and helpful hosts. My kid accidentally ordered something not gluten free and the owner caught it and suggested something amazing. We are so excited to have finally gotten to try this Sarasota treasure.
