Great food and service!

We recently revisited Speaks Clam Bar on St Armands Circle. Our previous visit was wonderful. The service was exemplary and the food was terrific. This time, in order to recapture our initial experience, we reserved a table with our previous server Danielle. She not only remembered us but displayed a level of warmth and professionalism that is becoming rare in our industry. We've spent our careers in the service industry. We know. We asked Danielle to make recommendations and each item served was fresh, cleverly crafted and presented nicely. A server that has an intimate knowledge of a restaurant menu is a gift to any owner. The entire dining experience was once again, spot on. We did however want to enjoy a digestif at the upstairs bar. The downstairs bar is nice but the upstairs lounge has a cozy feel and is the perfect atmosphere to wrap up such a marvelous dinner. A shame it wasn't available but all in all, another great dining experience. We will definitely be back.

Food was delicious. Service was great. Heather was our server, super friendly and knowledgeable of menu items and wine lists.

Amazing food, the sauce is awesome and flavorful. The pasta is amazing. The oysters are also fresh and are great. Eggplant paramesan also has great flavor and is nice to see a restaurant do. The servers are friendly and the service is quick. Lots of windows so natural light is main light source. Overall this turned from a place we were trying out for just oysters, into a must go restaurant every time we’re in the area.

I sat at the bar today on my way home from work. Trying to beat the after work insta-hunger, but more importantly the LWR after-work traffic. Not only did the bartenders deliver but they exceeded expectations! I had the scampi oysters and ordered the lasagna bolognese to go. 10/10 recommend the oysters!! And don’t just get 3, make sure to get 6, Mary was looking out for me with that suggestion, THANKS GIRL!!! Not remembering the gentleman bartender’s name is 100% my bad. He’s a local legend (that signature hat) I’ve been in a cpl times before, and have always been so happy I stopped. Thank you two for being an awesome duo, you made my slow lunch, worth the drive! I love the food, I love the service, if a speak easy vibe isn’t usually your scene, Speaks will surely change your mind.

Very Nice.

This restaurant seems promising with its speakeasy vibe. There was almost nobody in the restaurant and we got told that there wasn’t space on the balcony. The service was extremely slow. The seafood like oysters and clams was chewy and unpleasant to eat. My boyfriend ordered a regular coke and the first time we got a flat diet coke then the next time a cherry coke. The waitress would never come to the table even when the whole restaurant was empty. The pasta was homemade but uneven texture, thick and all stuck together in one big clump. To top it all off, my boyfriends broccolini still had the RUBBERBAND around it

Best offering in the area, somewhat hit or miss depending on who's in the kitchen, but when it hits, God it's good.

House-made pasta is phenomenal, service is on point, atmosphere is nice and open, not to crowded, two nice bar areas, great for any time of day.

I swear to god the first time I had the shrimp & lobster lasagna it was all I could think about for days

The Grouper is also very good. Honestly you'd be hard pressed to find anything to complain about. The Crab and artichoke dip and bruschetta starters rock, salads are great- beer and wine selection are decent, nice cocktail menu, seriously can't say enough about how good Speaks is
