Speaks Clam Bar

I do like Speaks and think its a solid restaurant. Especially for Bradenton which has mediocre food at most places.
The fried platter is quite good and the chicken parm is also solid.
Plus if Dicky V dines there it must be good! Its not amazing but it consistently good.

Delicious food! High quality, especially for the price. Young, friendly staff do an excellent job. Everything was great. The tiramisu is the most authentic I've had at a restaurant in recent memory.

We are visiting this area from Madeira beach. We were told to try this place out that it would be delicious. I will say our appetizers of calamari and muscles were divine. Our main courses were pretty good but were very salty. I had the stuffed shrimp and could barely eat them because it was too salty. The pasta is made in-house and delicious but the scampi sauce is too salty as well. The crusted grouper was very good.
Our server was super kind, a little swamped but had help from the manager who was quick to help out (which is really cool in my eyes). Our drinks were great and came out quickly. Not sure we will return because there are so many other food options but I just wanted to put this review out there.

I found this restaurant by accident, and since then it’s my go to restaurant. The staff are awesome, the food is amazing, from Italian to seafood and the prices are very reasonable. I’m a customer for life and I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family.

My husband and I came to the area to celebrate our 1yr anniversary and I picked this restaurant for our last night to celebrate. The atmosphere, our server, the food looked and was great for me. My husband’s experience was the opposite. He ordered a steak that he said was very good but that night around 3 AM he woke up with food poisoning. We’re certain this was where he got it due to not having eaten anywhere else. We really wanted to love this place but unfortunately I have to give the food a 1 star. I’m not sure how this happened but I want to make everyone aware to be cautious.

Had huge expectations, the photos and menu looked delicious but was completely disappointed.

The clams in butter and garlic were just boring and so few
We got fruti de mare which tasted worse than stofers frozen pasta, honestly no salt or seasoning at all. Everything tasted like it was just defrosted and throw together
