I've never been disappointed when eating at the Steak and Shake in Port Charlotte, but this location on Cattlemen is unclean. The service was terrible. It took almost an hour to get our food. The food was cold. I wouldn't recommend this location.

If I could leave zero stars for food I would. Just worked a 9 hr wedding Couldn’t make it to Culver’s in time so opted for this, went with my favorite The Frisco melt and a side of fries. Got home. Nothing melty at all about the frisco melt, usually it’s so greasy with butter, it was hard as a rock, I couldn’t even cut into it. Cheese not melted at all. The fries were cold. And not good at all. Not sure what happened to you guys but you seriously went downhill and SUCK

The food was really bad they had no ice the shake machine was broken after I paid for a shake.The tea tasted like mold and the water tasted like plastic. And the lettuce on the burger was slimy and moist.

It's sad to have a steak n shake where the customer service is so terrible the great food isn't even worth a visit. Too bad! Love the food. To be more specific the two male cashiers are absolutely terrible. We visited again and there was a female cashier and she was friendly and provided great service.

Asked for mayo and was told they where completely out. Then heard worker joking about it with coworker. Lies, they had a tray full of packets. Ordered ice tea which was out so attempted to get a alternate drink which became a ordeal. Nobody upfront to help customers and workers act like they don't see you so they can ignore you. SMH. Nope, never again

Food was perfect. Love the fact that they use beef tallow and not frying oils that are full of chemical addictive. You can definitely tell the difference in the taste. Everything was clean and bright; old fashioned diner vibe.

I enjoy the steakburgers at Steak 'n Shake. But I didn't care for the setup at this particular franchise. We entered expecting a dine in experience. What we got was something different. It was confusing and lacking personality. There are no waiters or waitresses here and no real service, but there was confusion. Upon entering, you order and pay at a kiosk. Then you seat yourself and wait for your name to be called to get your food. While waiting for your food you get your drink yourself at the soda fountain. This was confusing because the fountain doesn't work until you scan your receipt. Also, if you need something, it is a bit of a challenge to get the attention of one of the few workers present. Maybe this is the future of restaurants, I don't know, but I much prefer to be seated and waited on. This experience was confusing and very impersonal. I won't dine in again here, but I will continue to use the drive thru because I enjoy the food.
Ordered inside and I waited patiently 30 minutes before I went to the counter, my bag was sitting in the back by the drive through for 20 minutes. So maybe they should prioritize their customers that take the time to come in an eat and not make the drive through priority one. Just ridiculous

This was my first time at a Steak 'n Shake, the workers have been very friendly, the food really good, with the exception of the soft drinks. Not only did the machine not work and a worker had to fix it, but the drinks had a very strong chlorine/bleach taste, because of which I couldn't finish the drink and had to throw it out. The music was at a nice volume and not intrusive, the store was clean. Funny thing I have never heard before: you can pay with BTC.
The reason we tried this place today was because we heard that Steak 'n Shake uses beef tallow, which we think is very nice, we'll definitely come back
