Never eating here again. I went to this restaurant twice with my family in one week no issue. My family drives from out of town to dine for dinner. We arrive at 4:37 (they open at 4:30) and the doors are locked. The owner unlocks the doors and there is no one in the restaurant. We ask for a table for five and he begins to berate us saying we should have called and made a reservation. He becomes very theatrical as he yells it’s peak season and that he has two parties coming in at 6:30 mind tot it’s 4:37. Beyond rude, lacking customer service, I won’t be supporting this ‘small business’ ever again.

2 stars because of the unfriendly service and the way the guy picks up the phone at this place. I wanted to place a pick up order 2 months ago and the gentleman who I assume is the owner answers with such an attitude saying it will take an hour because they are busy for my simple chicken gyro wrap. Fast forward 2 months later, I call again to try to give them the benefit of the doubt and the same guy answers the phone. I decide to place an order. I wanted 2 chicken gyro wraps. He almost rang me up for 3. I just didn't feel welcome or like they want my business so 'll continue to go to greek taverna on Beneva. Always great service there.

Pleasant local family run Greek restaurant. Food was very good and prices were very reasonable. Service was a bit erratic since the restaurant was packed. Reservations are essential. Parking can be a serious issue and be careful not to park in the convenience stores spots.

Absolutely HORRIBLE, we were ready to order and the waiter never came. I have kids and asked if they had kids menus they said no very very rudely so we just left. And the waiter just laughed at us.

Best Greek food I've ever tasted. I ordered the Gyro Platter, Greek Salad and Baklava. Everything was so delicious ? The restaurant is intimate and romantic with dim lighting. Go! Go! Eat! Eat!
We ate here before and service from WAIT STAFF ONLY was perfect. I wanted to place a pick up order and the owner of the place the husband only takes them. Waited a few mins to place an order almost 5 mins waiting on the phone. I mentioned this amd he goes well your not the only on here what do you want. I was shocked at the customer service and disrespect. I said nothing sir and ended call.

If you’re looking for a truly authentic family run Greek restaurant, look no further. This place is of a forgotten era where homemade Generational recipes meets old-school Greek hospitality. Bravo!!
Amazing little place with the best food! Peter was very welcoming and service was excellent. We had salmon and gyros it was all excellent. Everything tasted so fresh, even the pita was like it was just made. So happy this is close to home! Will be back.
—Authentic and unique— I’ve been coming here frequently to dine in the evening . Stella’s is the most interesting place I’ve ever dinned in Florida. This is better than going to the Greek restaurants in Tarpon Springs. I was in Tarpon Springs just last a month ago, and after I finished, I could not help but feel the comparison. My conclusions are that Stella’s is authentic Greek food in an authentic Greek atmosphere. Moreover, this place is unique! It’s authentic because the owner came out of retirement to cook because she enjoys cooking. They told me they carefully select the food to ensure quality. More importantly, this restaurant is unique. This may be the only restaurant in Sarasota county where the owner cooks the food and the owner serves the customers. To me that shows accountability for all-round quality. From my experience in having lived in Italy, I was only used to Italian wine. But when the owner recommended the Greek wine, I was reluctant. But I am very impressed, and I enjoy every glass that I drink. I can’t say that for other restaurants in Sarasota, unless you pay for a glass of wine at the cost of a bottle in a wine store. A special note of its uniqueness: this is the only restaurant where I can even have an argument about philosophy—especially Greek philosophy. For me that’s unbeatable, and it’s the reason why I keep coming back. I don’t remember these kinds of arguments even when I was in Athens!!! My only recommendation is that I would like to see a small picture of Themistocles hanging on the wall. Like the statue of Themistocles standing in the port of Pireaus. I was there for Christmas when everything was closed for the holiday. I just sat and admired his statue. Bravissimi to the staff for their work!

We walked into hidden gem of Sarasota . Pietro, the owner of the place , served us dinner . He is very professional , patient and gives you all the attention you need . We got some traditional Greek dips for appetizer and moussaka , lamb and chicken kebabs for main course . Everything was so perfect and delicious! We love Greek food but that place was one of a kind ! The place is very clean and tastefully decorated . Cannot wait to go back there again !
