Wasn’t busy at all. Waited 7 minutes to be acknowledged when we walked in the door at 9:53 AM. Finally got seated. At 10:05 our drink orders were taken. We got our drinks right away and advised the waitress we were ready to order. She walked away without taking our order. At 10:14 we got up and left because no one ever returned to take our order. Won’t be returning to this place.

Food and service was good, but not management. Customers is being charge extra if pay by credit card. They passed the credit card fees to customers. Customers have to foot in tips to help pay your waitress and now have to foot in credit card fees!

Excellent breakfast today. The poached/basted eggs were the best I have had in 20 years. I eat here every week. The chef is creative. The ingredients are always fresh. Sunnyside is consistently good. I wrote the preceding 8 years ago. I am updating it August 2024. I eat here at least once a week and have worked my way through the entire menu. The food is consistently fantastic, fresh, excellently prepared and delicious. 10 stars. Michelin needs to discover it.

Fresh squeezed orange juice, tender juicy steak, eggs the way you like them, and overall pleasant atmosphere. This small restaurant off the side of the highway can be easily skipped for people not paying attention, but once you know it's here, you will never forget it. With its pleasant atmosphere and good food. I highly recommend their fresh squeezed orange juice, and we are talking fresh squeezed orange juice not bottled garbage. Interesting to look at despite it being right next to the highway, and interior looks very chic along with a modern twist. The steak and eggs for the breakfast is definitely a go-to on their menu. Small, cozy spot with a great breakfast menu as well as lunch and dinner. Has a full bar. The Bloody Mary we had was spicy and excellent. There is a small staff, so service is slower, but so worth it. This is a great place for a leisurely paced meal.

This food is amazing!!! Flavors and presentations are on point. Fresh ingredients and it is the ordinary. I was so impressed. Don't be scared off by the location.
My wife always said…..”Never judge by its cover”. She was correct here. Oh my God. The food & service was amazing. The plates were huge!! The family is vacationing in Sarasota/Anna Maria Island &&& got off the plane. Picked this spot & wasn’t feeling all warm/toasty butttttt once we stepped in……AMAZING!!! Thank You to Claudia who spoke great English, friendly & attentive & put up with a party of a hungry 6!! Thanks to Sunnyside…..we will be back for sure.
