Food was decent but nothing to write home about. The staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was homie. I strongly recommend that the owners do something about the coffee, it was really bad, watered down and burnt, tasted like Folgers or Maxwell House (bottom of the barrel coffee). Get some local coffee with a soul at your place, everyone would benefit from it.

On Memorial Day our favorite breakfast locations were closed so my wife and I decided to try this location. We were sat right away and while the interior had a nice little vibe to it any positive thoughts were instantly taken away by how sticky the tile floor was. I could literally hear my shoes stick with each step. Not sure if this was due to soap not being rinsed properly or another reason but it did stick in my mind as we were walking to our table.

The omelet I ordered was good, as was the toast and bacon. I wish this location, though, had regular hash browns. They do not. Their only hash browns are cheesy. To not have a plain version really bummed me out. The only other option were potatoes that had sweet potatoes mixed in. Again, bummer, since I do not like sweet potatoes.

All in all, The Original Egg was okay but not having options that other locations such as Millie's or Max's Table have, means we probably will not be back.

So glad we found this gem. Great local eatery. Loved my frittata special of the month. Husband loved blt. Fresh squeezed orange juice and excellent coffee. Fruit side was generous serving. My only complaint is that is was cold, but getting my jacket solved that!

This establishment has the rudest staff most entitled staff. Too bad they will lose customers over this.

We requested to sit at a 2 top table being it was just me and my wife and the waitress got a attitude and said who sat them their and when told we asked to sit there she stated well I'm not waiting on them 8 don't care and stormed off then another waitress came and tried to fix it but it's to late we clearly wasn't welcome to sit there so that will be my first and last time in to eat here why have tables if u can't sit at them

GROSS...I absolutely hate writing bad reviews but some just need to be written. Let's get this over with. When we walked in the 2 hostesses had no clue what they were doing. Took them a few to ask how many in our party, after telling them 3x them it's just us two of us we were sat. Salsa music bumping to the max! I love good music but not blasting over customers trying to eat. Now the food options were good, but watching the line manager playing with his water bottle, dropping it on the floor, picking it up playing with it a little more, then handling food..gross.. Then, after we put our order in, we see the cook wipe his nose then put a peice of bacon on someone's plate. Then we noticed only 1 cook had on a glove..1 glove... at that point we decided this is NOT where we would eat nor come back to. We live in Sarasota and we frequent restaurants alot. This was a bad experience. Not worth the risk
