⭐ 1-Star Review I had one of the most shocking and disappointing dining experiences at Waltz Fish House. After receiving my meal, I mentioned it wasn’t cooked properly. Instead of preparing a new plate, the server actually took my partially eaten food from my plate, brought it back to the kitchen, re-cooked it, and then served it back to me. Not only is that completely unsanitary and a clear health code violation, but it’s also just plain gross. When I expressed concern, they refused to take it off the bill and still expected me to pay full price. There’s no excuse for this kind of practice in any restaurant, especially one serving seafood. Definitely won’t be back — and I hope this is addressed before someone gets seriously sick. Carla D

Had the best Chilean sea bass I have had in years! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mixed veggies and red potatoes were delicious. This is 5 star food in a very relaxed environment. I agree with another reviewer that the key lime pie was not the best in town - needed to be a little more tart but who cares when the fish is so good.

Laid back spot with excellent seafood options, gourmet quality food without the upscale environment. I got the scallop entree with a siesta salad and slice of pie. My entree was perfectly delicious, the salad very tasty but the key lime pie fell short for me. It was mostly sweet with a little bit of tart.

Been a local in Sarasota for almost 55 years! Walt’s has always been our favorite local seafood place . We haven’t been for awhile since moving to north Sarasota. Went yesterday 10/1 with the wife . Forgot how incredible the food , service , and atmosphere is . Fried Hogfish was incredible. Brett has done an amazing job keeping the family tradition going . I knew Tom and Linda well years ago thru Russ Jeanes . Their trusted refrigeration expert keeping those walk in coolers and ice machines cranking for many years!! We will back way more often . Great job Brett and crew . One of our last original restaurants ???ps. Read some of the negative reviews also . Most are from along time ago . The service and food were amazing. No business is perfect , every business unfortunately hires a bad server ) especially in these trying times ). Also if you have ever cooked seafood yourself and can be very tricky to come out perfectly every time . Walt’s should have a 4.9 rating especially in the restaurant business!

Walt's Fish Market Restaurant and Tiki Bar in Sarasota is the spot for fresh seafood. The environment isn't fussy and the servers are kind and friendly. Every meal I have enjoyed at Walt's has been delicious and cooked perfectly. My favorites are the king crab legs, grilled pompano oscar style, and fish & chips (excellent flounder). Love their key lime pie too! Definitely add this popular local restaurant to your list - it will soon become one of your Florida favorites!
