Hi from Orlando! Me and my family were visiting Sarasota for the first time and we came across the wicked cantina. I was exited because I love anything Mexican! When we got to the host station it looked like everyone was busy so there was no greeting! We waited about 5 minutes to get seated. I ordered the carnita tacos and cheeseburger and fries. I didn't not like that I could not order the bar trio because they couldn't do one grouper taco as part of the trio! The cheeseburger was good had flavor the carnitas were not even warm but I still consumed it! It wasn't the best! The refried beans lacked flavor and so did the rice. I would rather go for Authentic Mexican food.

Took a unplanned roadtrip up north, and decided to try out this upscale Mexican restaurant off of Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. It was an inspiring experience as I made friends at the bar and great conversation with Nancy, the bartender. The ambiance, the food, the wine, and good conversation made my day!

Biggest pet peeve is when you wait at hostess stand tell them you have a pickup and they tell you to go to the bar, then you sit and wait for the bartender to serve all their patrons then acknowledge you. Imagine if everyone in a restaurant helped the customers, or in other words their job? Everyone should be able to help everyone in a restaurant simple. So if I tell the host I have a to go they should look and see if they can assist than resist. One day establishments will understand customer service is what keeps a returning customer.

I got the chicken tacos and the chicken was so well seasoned. Citrusy and a hint of lime. All my food wax excellent and the key lime pie was even better than imagined!

10 out of 10! Brisket tacos were some of the best brisket we've ever had, the pork enchiladas were delicious and the ribeye fajitas were super filling. I loved the black beans. A smokey mezcalina and boss margarita were sublime drinks. The only average thing was the free salsa. The spicy one was better. Going to have to come back regularly!

Food prices are decent and the atmosphere was nice. The beans and rice were undercooked . I got the chicken burrito, which was very good. You can't beat the happy hour beer price at $1.75. It was busy, and service was slower than expected. I will try again another day to see if I just caught them on a bad day.Kid-friendliness: Nice kids menu, with several choices to choose from.
