Cool place, went with my young family of two adults and three littles. Food for everyone with exotic choices or safe stuff for picky kids. Nice beachy vibe restaurant.

As someone from out of state, I have visited Captain Hiram’s sandbar for most of my life (which is an amazing place), but had never ate at Blackfins. We had a group of 8 and everyone’s meal was fantastic. I can’t believe we haven’t ate here sooner and this will now be a staple on our vacation every year. Not one person complained. From the scallops, to the shrimp po boy, to the Reuben, to the blackened fish BLT, everything was delicious. I can’t stop thinking of their fries. Their fries were probably the best I have ever had. The seasoning was great. My shrimp po boy had a lot of shrimp on it, and everyone left full. We had a gorgeous view right from our table. Even though it rained and the windows were open, no one near the window got wet. Highly impressed with Blackfins!!!

BUT their "gluten free" food caused my three gluten intolerant friends to have diarrhea for the week we ate there. We're still not sure if it was even gluten free.

Go for the nice riverside experience and views of the water, boats, fish jumping out of water, birds and live music. Probably just ok for lunch-as in sandwiches & salads or drinks. Appetizers came from frozen-calamari definitely came from the freezer section. Teriyaki wings were good. Crab dip-not bad but the crackers were different and good. Dinner food-when we asked where scallops came from, the server said "a package." Fish (swordfish & mahi) was fresh but overcooked so it was dry and difficult to get past 2 bites. Rice was dry and undercooked-rock hard grains-for all of us who had rice. Bread pudding was the best of the 3 dessert items, but can easily be skipped. Bring a sweater with you-it can be windy & chilly outside & even in. Door to outside was kept open-nice for the breeze & fresh air but, ceiling fans all over, right over each table and none of them can be turned down or turned off. The pull cords don't work. Ladies room-1 of 3 toilets clogged for our 1.5 hrs here with a cone blocking it off. Parking was free across the street but crowded and just luck we got a spot.
I might try again for just lunch.

Parking: Crowded parking lot and mostly full; expect to wait a little for someone to leave especially on a weekend or peak season. Keep in mind if you have reservations.

My wife and I have been going to capt hirans for 20years
We just went there the weekend of February
We have never been so disappointed in the food as we were then
The crab soup had no crab to speak of in it
And had to add oldbay to give it flavor
Clams cosine was average I'm willing to give them a try again
I hope they had an off night
We drove 2 house one way to go there
Not the old captain hirams I remember
Please fix this

Really nice atmosphere, good was phenomenal and very reasonably priced for what you're getting.

Our server Olivia was wonderful! Mussels were great, snapper good but a small portion for price. Also disappointed that no chocolate dessert for Valentine's Day!

It's a nice resort setting with multiple dining and drink options. The menu offers something for everyone. The food was good, and the wait staff was very attentive. I would definitely come back again.

Terrible service.!! Warm beer!! I went to the bathroom and the waitress took my food. I wasn't even done!! She never ask if I was done. Definitely not worth the money at all!! Save your money, go somewhere else. Much better places around The area.
