This place is an absolute gem! The wood-fired pizza is phenomenal and perfectly crisp, flavorful, and made with so much care. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The service was just as amazing: warm, attentive, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I had such a great time here, and it’s definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again and again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic, delicious pizza!

All the local UM college students told us to avoid this place “like a plague” and they were right! Would give zero stars if that was an option.
We tried both pizza and pasta. Horrific, bland pizza, tasteless pasta with acidic sauce and probably the worst service we’ve had in all of Florida (maybe the entire United States). The place has a suffocatingly hot, dark and depressing ambiance amplified by the emptiness. Save yourself the terrible experience and drive to any other pizza option in the area.
Chocolate mousse also tasted awful and looked like it was just purchased in a grocery store pre-packaged section, which is surprising given how hard that is to mess up as a dessert….

I had the meat lover’s pizza and the prosciutto crudo pizza. Both were excellent. Would go back to this place 100%
Was looking forward to trying this place. Ordered a margarita pizza and sodas. Got a call that they couldn’t deliver after I ordered. Ok. Went over there and got a call that they were delivering. Ok. Opened the pizza box and it was not a margarita which was what was on my receipt. Instead it was plain cheese. Oh well.

We ordered dinner for the 3rd time from La Pizza 1789 and each time it has been delicious - from their pasta to my favorite pizza with crusty, bubbled crust! The young man who answered the phone was polite and helpful. I highly recommend their food on that night you just don't want to cook!
