My review is directed to Employment for this Tirant, stay far far away. My niece and her BFF were living in this area from New Jersey. Besides having to "Enforce" his "10 Commandments of Dining in his Establishment posted out front" such as: If you have any food allergies go elsewhere, absolutely no substitutions or return of your plate for any reason to the kitchen. God forbid a server takes your plate back say to keep it warm while you attend to an emergency phone call - the Owner loses his mind on the Server. My niece severely cut her hand on a dessert serving tray when it slipped from being on a wet surface, as the blood was all over the kitchen and she was cleaning it up while trying to compress the injury, the owner screamed at her at it being a family plate offering no assistance whatsoever. Lastly prior to Covid shutdown, both my niece & bff were owed 2 weeks pay (now here you never take tips home all goes in drawer even cash, then you are paid out every 2 weeks. So it's a hefty check) he led them on for weeks and played hide n seek with being available to pay. Finally text them he spent their $1200 each check. He is lucky her Dad a reputable & successful business owner and I are in New Jersey. He refused any contact with my niece or her father. Unfortunately this became a very hard lesson to learn they are back in New Jersey working as servers at an Upscale On the Water Restaurant at the Shore, where they are seasoned servers. This experience was meant to be a working experience in the warm winter climate. Anyone wishing to contact me please do. Bottom line never work for this owner.

No one should ever eat at MACALUSO'S Restaurant in Miami! The scumbag owner never pays his employees and when he does it is with bad checks that bounce! What a piece of crap!! Please share this post

The food is amazing. If you love meatballs and red sauce this place really can't be beat. I've traveled all over the world eating italian food and spent a lot of time in Italy and these meatballs are the best I've ever had. The prices are expensive, but it's worth it. Also make sure to top it off with their Locatelli cheese!

The best homemade Italian food in South Florida prepared by one of the best chefs in the restaurant industry. From the excellent service to the pleasant ambiance, everything is simply amazing.

We just walked in and we're kicked out by the owner because kitchen was closed but it's 10:00 and everywhere it says it closes at 11:00. We were regulars, we won't come back

Owner of this restaurant doesn't deserve any local business. He's always rude and arrogant. We eat here often since we live in neighborhood but today was last time we try. We arrived at 9:45pm to get a quick meal. The owner was sitting at the same table he always has his dinner at. As we walked in he screamed from across the room, kitchen is CLOSED. The restaurant had about 4 tables full. Online and the door sign say they close at 11. No wonder they are never busy. Arrogant chef should go back to Miami Beach

I could eat here every day. My favorite dish is the chicken Parm with baked rigatoni. It is absolutely heavenly. I would kill to learn the recipe of the salad dressing which is the best I have ever tasted anywhere in the world. I almost was not going to leave this review because the place is a little small and if secret gets out then it will be too crowded to go however it's only fair that everyone have a chance to enjoy this place.

Well this is tough because I really want to like this place because we need great Italian food in South Miami. The place needs to be tidied up a little. Looks messy and not thought out. I hate to talk about price when it comes to food but this place is at the outer reaches of pricing for what you get. The food was great but "come on Michael"! Wine selections are limited to several over priced Italian wines - not much selection. And of course, the Chardonnay we wanted was out of stock and the suggested "replacement" wasn't even close to a chard. Wait staff is so busy doing their chores that they can be hard to find at times. I won't give up yet. Salad, meatballs, Parmesan dishes are fantastic.

It's a Horrible Restaurant, the Owner is a very nasty Individual, with a bad attitude. He doesn't treat People very nice, especially those who have Dyslexia.

We were really looking forward to this place as we'd heard they served fresh home-made pasta. Unfortunately we were disappointed since they had ran out of certain pastas. Our entrees were OK, not as flavorful as I was expecting from authentic Italian.

Nice clean and relaxed informal atmosphere; very overpriced and pretentious attitude for some mediocre and disappointing food. Like an Italian deli that cooks the food in advance and just heats it up to plate it.Epicure market did a better job for less money.

I had an awesome experience in this restaurant. We loved the extraordinary vibes and the food. The staff were super friendly. I’m glad we ultimately managed to eat here.

Place is an institution. Went there for 15 years in south beach and now he's in the gables. Worth the drive. The meatballs are great , and the pastas are phenomenal

I've visited this restaurant 3 times and each time Michael, the owner, has made me feel very unwelcome. He treats customers poorly like this is the only restaurant in town when, in fact, this is a town full of great restaurants. They are closed more often than they are open and if you call the restaurant you get a recording instructing you not to waste your time calling because no one will ever be available to assist you. The food is average at best and the menu offers a very limited selection. They show you the types of pasta from which you can choose and it doesn't include common pastas like spaghetti or angel hair. There is few sauce selection, as well. The cheesecake tastes like ricotta out of a container and the texture is grainy. The meatball "salad" is just a meatball on a bed of plain romaine lettuce and the pasta was nothing special. There are so many better restaurants to try, I won't be returning to this one.

The customer service is constantly speedy, great ambience, nice staff members. I will visit again when I arrive in town.
