The only thing consistent about The Salty (South Miami location) is that you can expect a frustratingly inconsistent experience visit to visit. One visit you’ll get perfect, light, airy donuts… and you’re lured in to come back! The next visit (even just one day later), you’ll be handed the absolute worst donuts you could ever imagine… rock hard, dense, chewy, glaze gone wrong in a myriad of ways, stale, inedible. Their quality issues are unacceptable at their price point (+$5 for a single donut). Also, their up-charge for nondairy milk options is criminal… $1 up-charge for oat milk in a tiny cortado? Highway robbery. What’s worse, is that sharing detailed feedback seems to amount to nothing in terms of actual change to their quality assurance.

The donuts at The Salty Donut are very good, but the customer service this Mother’s Day morning was ridiculous. At 7:45 a.m., barely 45 minutes after opening, a customer two spots ahead of me asked for chocolate donuts for his kids and was told they were “sold out” because of Uber orders, even though there was literally a tray of chocolate donuts sitting next to the barista in plain view.
At that point, I was already worried the same thing was going to happen to me with glazed donuts, and sure enough, it did. I asked for four glazed donuts and was told they only had one left. Meanwhile, I could clearly see an entire rack in the back with probably 20 trays of glazed donuts sitting there. The employee was fully prepared to turn me away and not sell me glazed donuts for some absurd reason until I told him to check with someone in the back. The barista immediately came out carrying one of the many trays of glazed donuts that were apparently “unavailable.”
If you’re charging premium prices for donuts and coffee, customers should not have to argue with staff to buy donuts that are visibly sitting in the store.

South Miami location was very disappointing today. There was only two people working on a very potentially busy day (Mother’s Day) and there was a tremendous line and the service was not good…. There was also no Mother’s Day donuts ready on “Mothers Day” LOL!!! What a disappointment. Just would like to reccomend to add more help on these days. My husband had been waiting for almost an hour mind you he went early at 8 AM and had to end up leaving with 5 people in front of him and 10 uber/door dash drivers. I think this is unacceptable… yes the donuts are good but not that good to have to deal with this situation.

Absolute shambles of a store. I had ordered online day before. Arranged collection at 9am. Arrived at store and confirmed order at 9am. Then ignored for 40 minutes. Reminded staff and only then did they start putting my order together. Understaffed and absolutely useless disorganized process

Tried their hibiscus lemonade drink, I loved it. Got their Cafe con leche Donut, ate it before taking picture. Good service and clean as well, love they have an outdoor area to enjoy the food. Will be back to try the other donut flavors.
No words needed. The best donuts! I want to my mention the pink coffee paper cup lost its shape in minutes so the lid couldn’t stay in anymore and it was not Safe to hold while driving
