Not my first rodeo, but this place has always been great. Great drinks and great food, so I'm sure you won't be disappointed! We had catch of the day and scallop scampi , those with the drinks makes for another satisfied visit. May come back again before we go home ! Highly recommended

Stuffed mushrooms with blue crab. 1. ZERO seasoning in the batter 2. More bread crumbs than crab filing 3. Sauce was bland too Scallop scampi 1. CARDINAL RULE VIOLATION: Came with grated cheese on a seafood pasta dish. 2. Drowning in oil ... Sent it back and I think they only removed a teaspoon of oil. No garlic, no white wine, no lemon... Bland as heck. 3. Pasta was cut and broken as well as the past al dente and almost mushy. 4. $24 for 5 medium sized scallops that were rubbery as a pencil eraser. I would not come back again unless Chef Gordon Ramsey did a Nightmare Kitchen makeover.

The food was good, the service was on point and the ambience was perfect for our family of 5! The appetizers came out in a timely manner, corn nuggets and gator tail. The nuggets were lacking flavor but the gate tail was fried perfectly. Skip the nuggets! The entrees took a long time after we ordered them and when they arrived they were barely warm. The crab legs were over cooked and the fried oysters were a bit under. They were friend but some of the breading what soggy, they needed some extra seconds in the fryer. The best entree was the ribs and shrimp. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the shrimp was yummy. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service but there are other restaurants serving up seafood perfection in the area.

We waited 1 hrs 15 minutes seated at 8:30 pm. Oysters Doundanville were excellent. Basic housesalad was basic. The shrimp and grits were disappointing. Shrimp was way over cooked. I missed that it would be covered in BBQ sauce. It just didn't work. Bbq should be served on the side. Son had ribs and shrimp that were fine. Nothing exceptional. Busy because it was less expensive. Waitress was fabulous- Anastasia. She made up for the food.

Pretty good. Service was very good. This place is located on tge intercoastal so the views are really nice. Did the shrimp 3 way for me. One complaint when you have saucy shrimp remove ALL the tail so you can eat with a fork and not worry about getting sticky fingers. Sides were black eyed peas and mashed potatoes. Candyce did the chicken fried steak and said it was very tender. Just the one gotcha but that is me..... Other than that.... pretty good and food was great.

My 1st visit to Salt Water Cowboys with out of town guests. Server was informed and assisted with menu choices. Food ordered by guests were ribs/BBQ shrimp, child's shrimp dinner, frog legs / catfish (raved how good frog legs and ribs tasted) and I enjoyed fresh flounder (mustard coated), which I thought was just okay and over-priced for quality of taste (wouldn't order again). Atmosphere was just okay. Other restaurants are much better and would try others in the future.

Dinner was so good, I had the ribs and chicken combo and their bbq sauce was right down my alley- a slight kick and sweet. Slaw was really good too- need to go EARLY or you'll wait for over an hour to be seared and another hr to get food!!!

Salt Water Cowboys provided an unforgettable dining experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we were greeted by Alex, who, despite being in training, showcased impeccable professionalism and skill, we knew we were in for a treat. The crispy fried chicken surpassed any we've ever tasted, and the Sheepshead fresh catch earned high praise from even the toughest critic at our table, my father. The ambiance of the old Florida building nestled on a salt marsh elevated the experience, offering a picturesque backdrop to our meal. Salt Water Cowboys has truly mastered the art of delivering exceptional food and atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for anyone craving delicious cuisine and a charming setting. We can't wait to return for another memorable dining experience.

I love the atmosphere. The back patio is very peaceful surrounded by costal wet lands. The food was good. We had the cowboys app combo to start, fried catfish, gator tail and frog legs. Next we sampled some crab legs, oysters dondanville, fried okra and hushpuppies. No complaints.I'd like to try brunch next time.

We waited 1 hour to be seated, and another 1 hour to get food. No bar for a beer while waiting the first hour. Front desk was frustrated as people came in to check on time to get seated. We counted 15 parties that walked, waiting for our 1 hour. Once inside we waited 10 min to get our drink order in...only to be told no draft beers, no Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc, out of fish special, and several other items. I think the wait staff and kitchen was over worked. That said, food came out after a long 50 min wait and food was cold. No manager anywhere...go somewhere else!

We eat here everything we come to town. Great food and atmosphere. Laid back dining by the intercoastal waterway.

Blackened fish and shrimp - easily the saltiest dish I've ever eaten and it was expensive. Sodium overload. Service was great. Our group was a little upset that you can't order a side garden salad - it's just their own type of apple vinaigrette salad which I personally enjoyed. Service was great.

Pretty view, terrible coleslaw, food took a long time to come. It used to be very good. Seems disorganized and we did not feel like our dinner was worth the money. ? won’t be back
