Beware!! People making serious decisions without even talking to you. My wife and I have for the past 40 years have had 1 adopted pup and 1 adopted kitten and cared for and loved them for a full lifetime. This place decided we ( without meeting us) should not adopt a kitten to replace our 12 year old recently pass cat. And join our 2 year old dog and our son who misses the cat tremendously . WHY??? We have to guess, they only have names and "ages" surely they are not saying we are to old!! I am a retired vet and I challenge them to a footrace or workout routine anytime. I work more in one day then they probably have in their lifetime- yes now I am judging them - by their actions.

Obviously healthy cats. $140 adoption fee which is nothing considering they're spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and already very socialized. They let you know which cats might be a little spicy (and the one they warned me about was still friendly lol). Boba and macaroons were great too!

DO NOT EVER STEP FOOT INSIDE THIS PLACE!!!We visited the cafe and my kids fell in love with 2 cats. We applied for and were awarded the cats via adoption. Our kids named them. We bought collars with their names on them. The day came to pick them up and we were told, "sorry, you can't pick them up today, we will let you know in a few days if they're ready to go home". We were disappointed but agreed.A few days came and went and we heard nothing so we went back in to the cafe and were told, "sorry, it'll be a few more days". The owner was VERY rude and kept changing her story as to what was going on. We again left disappointed, but she assured us that the cats would be going home with us, they just needed a few more days.Over a week later, we are told via text message that "it has been decided that you are no longer getting the cats and the decision is final". No valid reason was given, as the reason that was given did not apply to us in any way. She simply pulled the cats away from us and refuses to even grant us a conversation as to why this happened. On top of this, she tried raising the price of the cats to more than double what she advertised it costs to adopt on her website. When we asked her why she would do this, her response was, "because I can get it".Is this the type of person you want to give you money to? Because that's who runs this place.100% of what I've written here can be backed up in writing - no matter what the response of the cafe owner may be to this review, I can guarantee you that it will likely either be twisted or a complete fabrication. She is not to be trusted. RUN AWAY from this place and do not give them a PENNY of your money!!!

Horrible place to go if you want to adopt a cat and live far away….. me and my fiancé wanted to adopt shebina I called the frisky cafe and spoke to a lady about shebina she gave me the price I told her that was fine and I’d like to come by and adopt her today. The lady did not tell me it would be 10$ a piece for me and my fiancé to get into the cat room and see shebina also we weren’t informed that we would not be adopting shebina right away also probably wouldn’t have happened!!! I did an application and haven’t gotten 1 call backSuch a scam I also did my research and saw that shebina has been at the frisky cafe as well as the other cats for other a year nowFishy don’t you think!!!!?

The Frisky Cat Cafe is the perfect win win for both cats and humans. The cats are able to enjoy a home like place and get tons of socialization so they are just the most adoptable cats while they wait for their forever home. The cats are well taken care of, they look healthy and have the shiniest coats. The staff is friendly, kind, and answers any questions you may have. Very cute cats, great experience if you want to just hang out with some cats and enjoy some coffee.

My friends and I were in St. Augustine for our friend’s bachelorette and we decided to stop by. We had such an amazing experience. The staff is very professional and you can tell they love and care for the cats so so so well. I especially enjoyed going to the room with the cats who had to be kept separate due to FIV. One of the volunteers, David, was really knowledgeable and educated us about FIV since it’s often misunderstood. Really appreciated his energy and presence. The cats are very lucky to have him and everyone else who cares for them! I wish I lived closer I’d be a regular lol.

Let me be honest here, this review would be higher thanks to all the kind staff and kitties but the adoption process is horrid. It seems like the owner continues to use excuses to make you wait and I'm done fighting to get some attention into my application, I even hastily provided my rental contract thru email and heard nothing back for 3 days u till she ACCIDENTALLY called me, imagine my disappoint when she almost immediately hung up.. There are kind sweet cats all over St. Augustine, heck there is a PetSuperMarket in the same plaza you can adopt same day for about 100 dollars cheaper and still donate that money to help out any cat charity of your choosing. Do better Carla. No one deserves to feel they arent good enough to adopt and do a good thing.

It was our first adoption and I can not describe how happy we were with the whole process. Every each of those persons are graces of god. Linda and Carla are very kind hearted and sincere. Valentino and Valentine are the most awesome members of our family now. We can't be thankful enough. Frisky Cat Cafe deserves all the good things and every donation coming its way.

This place is lovely. The catnip latte was amazing. My partner and I had visited in June and had to come again when we were back in the area. They were accommodating to my partner's use of a wheelchair by helping with the door and gate. The cats are very playful, and have space to get away from people if they get overwhelmed by them. Many of the cats are super friendly, though some are straw eaters. There are lots of toys for the cats. The litter boxes are out of sight, and while it does smell of cats, you can't smell their litter boxes.

My kids and I have visited the cafe a total of 3x. Loved it every time. The cats are obviously well-cared for, and the volunteers know so much about each one. When we were finally ready to adopt, it was so hard to choose so we were grateful for the guidance! The cats are well socialized and all lovable in their own ways. Thank you!
