There is no doubt that this is one of the finest culinary experiences in the South. Chef Honan, previously at Le Bernardin, has brought his vision and skill set to St. Augustine. His creativity, complex sauces and plate composition are just breathtaking. His concept of using quality Japanese ingredients with French cooking techniques is something really special.

SPECTACULAR! Hidden Gem!
This place truly blew my mind, the flavor of the ramen was exquisite. The chef curated a very well thought out menu that incorporates traditional Japanese flavors with his own unique twist. There is truly a ramen for everyone. The bacon and egg ramen was delicious, balanced, and so flavorful! The Miso Kinoko is the best most unique blend of Japanese and French flavors, the truffle that is added on top elevates this dish to a whole new level. There are like 7 more ramens that I must come back to try and update my review.
Important to point out their drink menu is very creative as well! It is wine, sake and beer only. I love how they’ve made a sake based cocktail menu, that tastes delicious and complements the dishes very well. Cannot wait to come back and try more!

YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!

Probably the best Ramen spot that I have been to in all of Florida. Located in St Augustine, in very low key house looking location. The interior is very modern and it sets the mood and restaurant dynamic quickly. One very cool thing is that tye kitchen is open and very close by and uou can see all the action happening. Chef Barry is nothing short of a flavor genius with French cuisine roots and also Japanese cuisine experience in land Japan. It has a fine dining feel to it bit also not which is very cool!

We had the Bloom steamed buns which come with the option of sunny side eggs with a twist if chili and cilantro were ridiculously delicious! For Ramen we had the Bacon & Egg, the Sweet Soy Braised Brisket, and the Miso Kinoko and its again, the best ramen ive had in all of Florida and potentially ever. The broth was rich in flavor and the noodles were excellent but Chef Barry said that those weren’t even the best ones which blew my mind. We had the Upside-down tart for dessert and it was delicious! The presentation was top notch and I am dying to visit again.

The only down side is that its in St Augustine which is 2 hours away. The staff is amazing and Chef Barry is very involved with guests which is an amazing touch. They have Japanese beers that i have never tried before and they were top quality flavors.

Food was good and service was what I’d expect for the price. Chef was accommodating and friendly. Outdoor patio wasn’t too loud and has fans and space heaters depending on the weather.

The appetizers were unique and worth splurging on. The sunomono was 5/5, tuna sashimi was 4/5, ceviche 4/5, and the scallop crudo was 3/5

I tried 4 different entrees and each had a unique flavor profile but unfortunately I can’t recommend them at the price point. In Jacksonville you can get similar or larger portion sizes, and in my opinion better tasting ramen, for 1/2 to 1/3 the price of Lotus. I heard high praise from numerous parties in the restaurant regarding the food but I don’t think it was regarding the entrees.

Cons: In a large party they said they don’t split checks for large groups - understandable but we just paid $75 pp for dinner it would be appreciated to spend the 5 minutes to split it. They said they’d charge us for spicy chili sauce for entrees even though they’re $40 each…would’ve been nice to know before you took our sauces that came with the appetizers (not that I asked one waitress not to take them and another one did), and worst of all 4% CC fee. Only one bathroom - was a line the entire night.

Edit to the response: Yes, the CC surcharge is understandable and clearly shown on menu and website, but the inability to split the check is not. I brought cash to cover my portion of the bill but I am not going to ask our entire party to bring $100 cash each to save 4%. I was surprised we couldn’t even pay the entire tip in cash given the gratuity was automatically added to the CC.

Two words: tuna and ceviche. They were two separate dishes I could not rave about enough. We thought about around a second round of each. A chef comes to present both of the dishes and they should because you can tell how thought out each dish is. My husband is always wary of raw seafood but he could not speak higher of the dishes we ate here. We also had the bochan, steamed buns, garlic noodles, and brisket ramen. Nothing was a miss. But the tuna and the ceviche were some of the most tasty things I’ve ever had. We will be back.

Super cool little place walking distance from downtown. We were initially sat in a corner I didn't like and one of the staff noticed the look on my face and immediately asked what I needed. The place was fairly booked and she found us a much better place to sit. That attention to detail impressed me and that was just the beginning. Very knowledgeable & attentive staff. Food was delicious, creative & beautiful. We will definitely be back when in town and have already recommended it to a friend.

Great ramen in St. Augustine!

What we ordered:
-Drinks: sparkling water, cranberry nihonshu (delicious and not very sweet), sake (husband says “sake was very good, some of the best sake I’ve had”)
-Ramen: bacon & egg (very filling for me, gave leftovers to the man), garlic noodle mazemen (the man was not full on this alone)
-Appetizer: “Bloom” steam buns with sunny side eggs (butter came in a honey comb with honey infused). Next time we come back we’ll bring a bigger appetite and order more appetizers as they all looked amazing.

Couple of notes:
-Parking: onsite
-Reservations: a must. Gives you different options when booking on Resy (dinning room, noodle bar, barstool with back, and outside). Was unsure which one to chose, ended up choosing dinning room and think we made the right selection for our vibes that night. Noodle bar and dining room is pictured. Each of the two bars have 4 seats. Overall the restaurant seats about 30 guests inside (plus a few more outside) so it is small and intimate. Most tables were configured for two guests.
-Bathroom: there is only one bathroom (with one toilet and sink) for the whole restaurant and workers. There was almost always a line of a few people. This was the biggest (and only) downside of our experience.
-Service: good, although borderline too many people working in the small and intimate space. Felt like they were always hovering and moving around, but they truly didn’t have anywhere else to go.

We’ll be back!
