We were excited to try Lotus but left very disappointed.
Tried 6 times to book on RESY, system showed plenty of availability.
Arrived at 8:02 PM (closing at 9), told to “wait a moment” despite open tables inside and out.
Waited 26 minutes without a single staff member acknowledging us.
Restaurant was moderately busy but far from overwhelmed.
As someone in the service industry, I understand when a place is full or can’t take walk-ins. But instead of being upfront, we were ignored. A simple, “We can’t seat you without a reservation tonight” would have been respectful and appreciated.
Sadly, the lack of courtesy means we won’t return.

Absolute must visit! Best ramen I’ve had in a long time, maybe ever, but for sure the best in the St Aug/Jax area. Every dish was better than the last. Diane was our server and was so sweet and kind, no detail left unnoticed. Turned a simple Sunday night out into a memory made. We will be back!
My daughter and I had a great experience at Lotus! At first we arrived too early and found out they were closed and only open for dinner. We were in town for a music festival, so that was our mistake. We made a reservation for dinner and were seated immediately upon arrival. They were very accommodating to my gluten allergy and the food was amazing! Everyone was was so nice, the waitress even offered to charge our phone for us while we were eating dinner. I couldn’t have ask for a better experience. I would definitely visit again next time we are in town. Check them out for a good noodle dinner!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here last night. Our favorite part was the polite and friendly bartender and the fact that the chef came out to introduce himself and discuss the dish we ordered. We thought it was so classy and shows how much he truly cares about the business. The food was incredible!! Don’t second guess..just go check it out.

Amazing food and service! We had the Hokkaido scallops, a5 wagyu tartar, tuna sashimi, and lobster noodle. The scallops were fresh, sweet, and was paired with a phenomenal dashi sauce. Wagyu tartar was good as well, the twist of a cured egg yolk is cool but reduces the richness without adding much flavor. Tuna sashimi is also paired with a light refreshing tomato ponzu sauce, although the fish itself is just standard. Lobster noodles is very flavorful, I like the garlicky flavor and the ikura, adds richness to the noodles. It could be paired with some acidity because everything is rich (broth, garlic, ikura), and the tomato ponzu sauce of sashimi does the job perfectly. Also had the strawberry crumbles for dessert, pretty standard but the salted sake vegan ice cream has a great flavor, the texture is icy but still creamy which is interesting. The service is also phenomenal, the chef explains the items so well and our waitress (Savannah) gives us everything we need.
It was the best ramen I think I've ever had. The flavors were rich and everything tasted home made like you're getting a home cooked meal. I also really liked the Japanese beer selection that wasn't your usual Asahi or Sapporo you normally see at places like this.

Lotus was an amazing experience. We went down to St. Augustine with my girlfriend and my mom, and we could have not been happier with the food, the level of details and the warmth of the staff. I think besides the great food, the atmosphere is very pleasant to have a good conversation/date night with your significant other. The Hokkaido Scallop dish was absolutely exquisite.
Definitely my top pick in St. Augustine to go to for a high-quality meal and great hospitality.
Overall I experienced a very poor perception of the staff. The chef was pleasant, but everyone else had an air of snobbiness and seemed displeased with our presence. Stiff atmosphere. The entire experience felt presumptuous. Decent vegetarian selection. I enjoyed the flavors and appreciated the fresh ingredients; however, I would have liked to see more differentiation in flavor profiles between the dishes. They were all quite similar, and my foodie taste buds wanted more variety. I would consider coming back, but with limited expectations.
Excellent food and service, highly recommend trying if you're in town.
Definitely our family fav! The food is incredible, the staff are fantastic and the setting is perfect.
The truffle ramen is hands down one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Chef is extremely personable and our waitress was super nice. A wonderful dining experience!
