Ordered New York Strip steak, medium. What I got was chunks of dried up something thin and tough. Unchewable, not a good taste.

Thanks to the crappy service and environment at Yamato (just got up and left before the drink orders) we were able to find Mikato!! Very professional with a classy environment just how it’s supposed to be, and the service was impeccable and accommodating UNLIKE Yamato!! Our server Jada who had such a cute personality was amazing, and Bob (yeah right lol), our Hibachi Chev was so funny we had such a great time!!!! We will definitely be back!!! (see you tomorrow lol). Thank you for a great birthday celebration for our son…. It was exactly what he deserved!!! Well done!!

The food was great. We have been to other Japanese steakhouse restaurants and it was pretty much a similar experience as those. Excellent!

Screw this place. Both my husband and I agreed we will never return. We waited 45 minutes for steak only for it to arrive to our table overcooked. For the price we paid we expected the food to be amazing. The upside to my food is/was the filet was very tender and had decent flavor. My son’s steak was overcooked as well. Portion size for a side of steak was laughable.

My husband and other son loved their sushi and agreed it was some of the best though! For the price we paid we decided it was not overall worth it. Be wary.

Everyone needs to learn guy who was cooking our food did a perfect job nothing was burnt but did not show well, but then again I prefer a good meal then a loud show but if I had my kids I would have wanted more

First off, reservations are NOT required.

There are not many hibachi restaurants in the St. Augustine area and we chose this one as it has the highest ratings on Google.

The atmosphere and service were fantastic. The food was good, nothing special just good. Our chef was extremely entertaining and engaging. He also cooked the food perfectly. Medium steak was truly medium, but could've used a bit more seasoning. The chicken was cooked well and not dry. The fried rice and vegetables were excellent. The portion sizes were very generous and justified the price point. Our only complaint was that the teriyaki sauce was very bland. The ginger dressing and sauce were truly ginger as some restaurants add orange flavoring to their mixture.

Overall a great experience!

We brought my daughter here for her birthday and the hibachi chef made it so special for her! We are very glad we chose Mikato and the food was superb. 4 stars for service because the waitresses should have checked on us more. Thanks!

Our server Jada was absolutely fantastic! The service she provided was above and beyond, and she made our experience that much better. The food was good and the portions were huge!
