We arrived as a party of 8 after spending a day at the beach. Upon entering, we were presented with two choices: to take a seat just inside direcyly by the door or to sit outside. We opted to sit outdoors and were informed that a person at the bar would guide us to our seats. We are standing here, waiting and waiting, and nobody has recognized our presence. One of our group members inquired about the seating arrangements. They provided menus and instructed us to jot down our orders...read full review

The Commander's Shellfish Camp offers a memorable seafood experience with a beautiful view. Customers can enjoy fresh seafood like Crab, oysters, and a clam/pork belly appetizer. The restaurant features a charming and laid-back atmosphere, perfect for a coastal meal, and has a patio at the end of the pier with a nice view of the inter-coastal for a great sunset. The seafood is very fresh, including delicate and flavorful oysters, and the crab cakes made with only lump crab that are considered the best ever. The menu also includes hot honey shrimp, boom boom shrimp, and Red Argentina shrimp, all praised for their delicious flavors. Diners can savor dishes such as King crab, Dungeness crab, datil sausage, red potatoes, and sweet corn, all seasoned well and served with drawn butter. The New England clam chowder is full of whole fresh clams, and the Bleu cheese wedge is perfect. Fried whole belly clams and hush puppies are also highly enjoyed. Visitors can see the clam farm from the water, adding a cool experience. The smoked chicken sandwich with datil barbecue is a unique menu item, and the house-made fish dip is smoky and fresh. For dessert, mini Keylime pie and mini coconut cream pie are served, offering a delightful mix of sweet and sour. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff who hustle to meet all needs. However, a recent change in how sauces are distributed has caused some frustration for guests, as the new small containers make it difficult to dip shrimp or hush puppies easily. Still, the outdoor seating is breezy and peaceful, perfect for relaxing and enjoying good food while watching the water. Overall, the delicious food, fast service, and beautiful view make it a great place to visit for seafood lovers.
