Honestly, this place is too good for St Pete. I have always been able to find a spot at the bar or outdoor tables. Great oysters and love their massive selection of tinned seafood. I wouldn't change a thing other than their location when I move.

This is truly a hidden gem in dtsp. It's a little tough to find - it's on the same property as Baba. The ambiance is beautiful, a great date night spot. There are pretty tall plants all around the perimeter of the property, so Eve though it sits right on Central, it has an intimate atmosphere. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating, and tables are spaced comfortably apart rather than crammed together like a lot of other restaurants are. The seafood we ordered was clean and fresh and prepared in front of us in an open kitchen. Service was warm, friendly and informative. The wine list is also really unique and extensive with some more obscure options if you want to try something new. Another option if you're feeling adventurous is their conservas selection. We tried a couple and really enjoyed the experience. Once again everything was presented beautifully and the accoutrements were well thought out and delicious. We spent the entire night at the bar here, but you could also start here and walk next door to Baba for dinner. It's a great spot. We will be back!

What a discovery this is! A next level experience and so fortunate to have this in St. Pete. At first I frowned on the idea of eating tinned seafood. And then did a 180 when I tried it! What’s nice is they also serve a selection of freshly prepared raw bar seafood jic you don’t wish to try it. On that side of the menu, we chose the delicious white anchovies, and the most ah-mazing shrimp crudo that was sooo delicious. It was like buttah…and had a nice middle eastern touch to it.We also enjoyed three tins. Mind you these are served with toast and accompaniments…butter, salts, pickled onion, parsley, lemon, and to-die-for Israeli hot sauce. YUM. We mixed and matched with smoked sardines, squid in ink, and rainbow trout jerky.Add in a glass of Portuguese white wine and a house Baba cocktail, and it all made for a wonderful “we’re kind of in Europe vibe” with outstanding service as well. It’s a super quaint spot attached to Baba, and also has its own adorable patio to enjoy al fresco dining as well!

This is one of my favorite places ever. The menu is unique, and the staff was extremely friendly and insanely knowledgeable. The razor clams were unreal good. Cannot wait to go back and try more!!

The food was interesting, portions more like tapas, and quite expensive. We love Greek food, but the menu was not at all “familiar”. For $150 for 2, I was disappointed. We did have an overpriced bottle of wine, that was blah, not bad, but like water. Would probably go to a different Greek place next time up the street.

Great tasting experience, exceeded our expectations! The Bulgarian wine and the hake fish cheeks were by far the best part. They even made doggo a little treat :)

Great food & service. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great spot to try something a little different. The cocktails were unique and well put together, the food was great quality and prepared by chefs that really care. Chefs Andrew & Andrew were great to chat with, they explained all the different conservas and made excellent recommendations. We will be back…A LOT!

What a creative and thoughtful fresh and tinned seafood place. Every little touch is so well thought out. High marks all around. Service is knowledgeable and engaging. Love the Euro vibe.

This spot is a gem. It is a former bakery turned into a raw bar. They have a huge menu of items and a lot of great drinks. There is a large outdoor patio area which is great too. The location is next to Baba. We came in before dinner at Baba but you could easily hang out here the entire night. Service was great. You can tell they really care about the seafood. Check out my photos.

We really enjoyed eating at Barbouni, the tinned seafood concept brought by Baba on Central. We've eaten tinned seafood before while traveling in Europe, it's particularly popular in Portugal, and we love it. I think there's a huge misconception about tinned food, especially seafood, it's regarded as low quality or something you only eat if you're on a budget but this couldn't be further from the truth (just take a look at the prices Barbouni lists for some of their higher end or more "exotic" items). The medium in which each sea critter is brined or prepared varies and the flavors are so unique to each one. We had four different types of seafood including anchovies, razor clams, squid in black ink and wild cockles. These are served in their original container alongside some accompaniments such as butter, pickled onions, salt, parsley, lemon and toasted bread. The razor clams were definitely a favorite of mine and my husband loved the squid. We also decided to try a couple of their fresh items since they're also an oyster, caviar and fresh seafood bar. We had a couple of their prawns which were very good. Their wine list offers several options including some wines that you may not see at any other restaurant because they come from less popular wine countries. The seafood bar does not take reservations and the space is limited.

Today’s visit to Baba was for lunch which we have never done. We have been for dinner, not lunch. We were surprised to see breakfast type dishes on the menu which were all very intriguing. However, today we decided to share the spread sampler. We choose 3 spreads to share. We asked if we could get pita as well as crudité. I am gluten free so I was able to eat the vegetables with the spreads. My husband ate the pita. I was given quite a selection of fresh vegetables. All three spreads (dips) were delicious. Our favorite was the beet & horseradish. Our server (I’m sorry I forgot your name)…was friendly, prompt, and helpful. We asked for a wine recommendation and she was spot on with her suggestion. It was smooth, refreshing, and perfect for our lunch. See you again soon, Baba on Central.
