I was at Bonu yesterday, and this is probably one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in downtown St. Petersburg. My food came out cold, and when I asked the server to return it, he literally stared at me for about 10 to 15 seconds without saying anything in a very condescending manner. He finally said OK, and took the plate away. He returned to the table about four minutes later and asked if I wanted something else I said no. I guess he thought, I just wanted a free meal, but that was not the case. I literally did not want anything else to replace it because if they thought it was ok to serve something this horrible, I dont trust anything that’s being prepared in that kitchen.I will say that the two Hostesses were very friendly however, the waiter with the ponytail was extremely condescending!

My boyfriend and I came here for date night and are blown away. Kayla was our server. She was very knowledgeable and gave us such a wonderful and special experience. She helped us select a wine that we really enjoyed. We tried everything she recommended and each dish had us saying “oh my god” between each bite. She then spruced up one of our dishes with her own touch. She truly made this experience so memorable. We will back this week, that’s how obsessed we are with Bonu now. Thank you for the best date night Kayla!!

First and foremost we had Kayla as our server. She was truly the best server I’ve ever had. Absolutely perfect… we got everything she recommended from wine and apps to our entrees. She even spiced up her favorite dish the way she does it herself. I can’t express how good this experience was. The owner came over to explain the Italian heritage this place holds. Everything is imported. Nothing made us feel bloated or drained as most pasta dishes do here in America. If you want a truly great Italian experience look no further than Bonu… I’m going to make Kayla my Godmother to my next child at this point.

Bight and airy and relaxing vibe very welcoming and exceptional service that complimented the incredible food quality. Everything is homemade and prepared with incredible ingredients that complement the unique selections. I had both the mushroom soup special and fish, which were outstanding as was my wives pasta. Theres a lot of choices to dine in this area but Bonu just raised the bar! Outstanding all around, thank you!
