Definitely a hole in the wall you would miss if you weren’t looking for it. Mike & Velma are very sweet.. Very nice fair portions, fair pricing (in my opinion, especially given the quality / location) and it’s always nice to know you are supporting people of your shared community. Make sure to tip for extra appreciation!
I have been trying to find ox tail that reminds me of my time in the islands all over Pinellas County and this is the first time I found an ox tail dish that has the right dark rich color was tender, but still had nice texture and wasn’t greasy. Lots of great layers of flavor. Mr. Mike at Calabash is making some wonderful authentic island dishes.The curry goat was also excellent and I love the traditional sides of cabbage and rice & peas.Everything had just the right amount...
Stumbled upon this place while on a wait list for The Saint. I ordered the vegetarian dinner and these veggies were basically crack. Someone had to basically pull the plate out of my hands so we could make it to the reservation on time and have been thinking about them since. Perfectly cooked, delicious curry flavor, and the right amount of spice. Highly recommend.
