I had gumbo, red beans and rice and shrimp and grits. This was the BEST Creole meal I’ve ever had. Thank you for allowing us in 5 minutes prior to closing. Excellent food and beautiful friendly staff. We’ll be back!!

My husband and I tried Chief's on a Tuesday night and were thrilled with everything! I can't say enough good things about this place. We were treated to complimentary fried okra, which was light and crispy. The service was out of this world. Valerie (with a capital V ?) was friendly, attentive, and fun to chat with. Her husband is the GM and he made sure that we were having a great time and enjoyed our visit. My husband had the jambalaya, and I had the crawfish creole. Both were fantastic! The crawfish fritters we ordered as an additional appetizer were my favorite. They were so delicious and came with an awesome dipping sauce. For dessert, we were treated to bread pudding with bourbon sauce, and that was heavenly. This is legit creole cuisine served up in a beautiful little restaurant by friendly staff. Their dining courtyard and restaurant interior is lovely and romantic, and you cannot ask for better service. Please do yourself a favor and visit Chief's!

The food was absolutely amazing! True creole is hard to find and this is definitely the real deal. I will be returning to this hidden gem. Amazing fried okra, corn muffins and salad to start the meal.

We waited 30 minutes after being sat and never received even drinks so we just left since we never got to put in an order. We've heard really good things and want to try it again, but maybe on a different day. We went on a Thursday and were one of three tables so perhaps the weekday is just not a good time to go.

The service was poor. I asked for chicken drumsticks and they brought me a breast. My waitress was very nonchalant and didn't seem to care. Also, the setting was poor. I would not go back. There are so many other places with better service.

Absolutely outstanding! The Spicy Jambalaya, Creole Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee...all were fantastic! Enjoyed meeting the owner Mr. B... we will be back! (oh, and the spicy jambalaya is SPICY)

Gumbo missing chicken crab n okra? How is that gumbo? Only had sausage, over cooked shrimp n one crawfish on top. Cornbread overdone crumbled n tasteless. Crawfish fritters mostly fritter batter. HOWEVER the beingiets n bread pudding excellent! Nice courtyard for outside seating.

Literally everything about our visit was a mess. Our server eventually recognized that every bit of our order was screwed up and gave us an order of beignets on the house as we left. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and got 1. We waited 38 minutes for our food. Everyone seated after us were served before us. Our appetizer never came. When our entrees came, they came without the sides listed on the menu. When we asked about our sides our waiter inquired if we wanted to order sides. No, we want what was on the menu. I ordered jambalaya and got gumbo. There is a difference. When I advised this was gumbo, I was told NO, it's jambalaya. I ate it anyway. Worst crime of all? It was all very bland. Never, ever, ever again.

I apologize for this review, becuse the owners are really good people, but the service was so uneven that 3 of our party were finished with their meals before the other two were served theirs. Evidently the chef ran out of the food our friends had ordered and had to make more. Our friends should have been given the choice to change their orders ,but they were unaware of the dilemma until it was too late. Even so, the rest of our meals were on the short side of just ok. Ambience was ok, but it was noisy.

The building was interesting being a restoration, the food was a disappointment. I had a combo of three entrees. My first two choices weren't available. The shrimp and grits were said to be good, gumbo loaded with shrimp & sausage but rather tasteless. The jambalaya if that's what it was wasn't good just hot. I love creole cooking, was very disappointed as food wasn't as good as expected. I wouldn't go back, but everybody's tastes are different. You need to try and make your own choice

The food was amazing and we loved the atmosphere! Our server was wonderful and was very helpful in explaining some of the items we weren't familiar with. One of the owners also came to our table and we enjoyed speaking with him as well!

I agree with Damon. We must have been there on the same night. This was not my first visit and the food has always been good. I would say this time it was average. One thing that I was introduced to the first time I went was the creole wings. I asked about them but I couldn't remember what they were called and the server didn't recommend the correct ones. The biggest problem as mentioned before by another reviewer was the service. It was beyond bad. Even though the server was pleasant I think she was cooking also. And to top it off there was a 20% service charge already added to my bill because I had 6 people. I hope they read this because even though I like the food I will probably not go back again.

Service was terrible. It took over two hours for four of us to get through the meal and there were hardly any customers. Gumbo was missing ingredients (crab, crawfish). Didn't get any corn bread. Half our party was finnished eating by the time the other meals came out. They were out of menu items. Overall terrible experience and the owner was nasty when the people behind us complained.

We've eaten here numerous times- it has become our favorite dining out spot. The food never disappoints. The serving sizes are appropriate and we usually take leftovers home...which by the way I must say: most takeout does not reheat well the next day. Not the case here. The leftovers were just as fantastic. Like taking home leftovers from your grandmother's kitchen (if she's a great cook as well). We Adore this place.
