Unfortunately, this will be my last visit to Datz. I truly miss the good old days at the South Tampa location… the quality and atmosphere just aren’t the same anymore.

I had breakfast at the St. Pete location a few months ago and it was decent, but today’s lunch was disappointing. I ordered the grilled cheese burger with their signature chips, and sadly, everything was cold. The chips were also stale, which made the $20 plus price tag feel even more frustrating. I couldn’t even finish my meal.

To top it off, the outdoor area looked unkempt and messy, which added to the overall poor experience. I really wanted to keep loving this place, but it’s just not what it used to be.

Best spinach salmon salad I've ever tasted! Portion sizes were large, salmon was fresh and dressing was amazing! Datz has a cool inside/outside bar and the weather was perfect. Staff was friendly, informative and just-the-right amount of being attentive. Had enough leftovers for a small lunch salad yesterday the following day!

DeLISHous! Love the vibe here, the newspaper menu is super cute. Shrimp and grits is fantastic.

I asked the waitress to take a photo of me and the food, and I edited myself to be bald since I can see my self eating here until I’m aged!

I have dine at this restaurant on numerous occasions. But yesterday by far was the worst experience I have ever had.

I was told that the wait was about 15 to 20 minutes. I waited about 12 minutes and decided to move to the bar, where they had and opening. Sadly the bar was under stuff which reflected in the service. I waited an additional 10 minutes to be attended too. For which I ask to have the area clean prior to me ordering. That took an additional 7 minutes.

I have ordered the steak and eggs on numerous occasions. This time the steak was cold not cooked to the right temperature the eggs was running, almost like it never hit the grill. It took me over 5 minutes to get a request for A1 sauce hot sauce and ketchup.

Nevertheless the experience was very poor, saying of that I had to drive from largo FL, just for this one occasion to eat breakfast to a place that I typically enjoy.

And for me to write this review tells me how pissed I really am. I never ever, ever write reviews.

Sadly it just boils down to manpower and service and I know most businesses are struggling with the manpower and appropriate workers and that in itself could kill a business.

I hope they get it right next time

A lot of bugs… like too many for comfort. I had to kill a beetle of sorts, not to mention all of the gnats… Servers were nice though, but not incredibly attentive. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food and, when we got our food, the Jacked Up Steak and Egg meal was entirely bland— I cannot express this enough, it was like they didn’t use a single pinch of seasoning for the whole meal. The Cuban from the lunch menu was delicious though, would recommend that one, if ordered to-go. Overall, given the experience we had and despite the decent portions, I would not recommend this location. Substantially overpriced given the experience we had.

We were shocked at the deterioration in quality. My Cuban sandwich was not pressed, triple salted, and missing key Cuban ingredients. The house sweet and salty fries were triple salted, and no sweetness at all. I took it home to try again, but it was inedible. With so much salt, I couldn’t even give it to the dog. No employee found for the first five minutes, but then pleasant service

Horrible service!! My family and I were seated and after 10 minutes no waiter or waitress came to the table to speak to us at all. So we went inside to tell someone and they told us twice they would send someone to our table and no one came. Horrible service, Horrible first experience, will not go back!

Monkey bread 10/10, service when food was missing from the order (like an entire kids meal) 1/10. We ordered delivery to avoid taking very sleepy children downtown. We were missing several items including the entirety of one kids meal. Kids are slightly less understanding about things like this when they are tired and hungry. We called the restaurant, hoping to get the missing items, which we were more than willing to go pick up. Believe me, that time in the car would have been worth the hassle, negotiating with 2 children who now have to haggle a chicken finger now, for one later, unfortunately though, when we called, the restaurant immediately placed the blame on the Uber driver. And told us we needed to take it up with them. After requesting to speak with a manager multiple times, after waiting on hold for nearly 10 minutes, we were told the manager wasn't available and they were closing soon. And then hung up. Honestly, was pretty taken back. I thought they closed in south Tampa because they couldn't afford rent, but maybe it's because they lack the human decency to understand the situation, recognize we were willing to go out of our way to remedy it, and then completely threw Uber under the bus and side stepped any responsibility when they simply forgot to make the second order and include drinks. Aside from the conversation with the Uber driver who assured us she picked up everything that was there with our order, it would have been clear there was refrigerated drinks, sweating with Condensation in a brown paper bag if they were originally in there, rather than paint the picture of a chocolate milk fiending driver who was geeked up on a kids chicken tender meal ruining random family's nights.

I had the Nom nom pretzels as an appetizer, which were good, but the cheese was said to have habeniaro which had no spice to it. For the meal I had the Kentucky Colonel chicken and the chicken had no flavor.

The atmosphere of the place was fine, but it was very clear about 15 minutes after seating us that the waitstaff completely forgot about us. This was strange considering we were one of three parties there. Food was meh.

When you order a medium WELL burger that comes out rare, pink all the way through and show the server who claims she's "been with the company a while" she gives you a look, gaslights you looks at you like you're the problem and asks "what do you want me to do?" Well, you've been with the company a while, don't you know? Comp the meal, the lunch was ruined. No one wants a raw burger, esp if the order was put in correctly. It was probably her mistake, thus the gaslighting. No, I don't want to wait now for the SAME raw burger to be cooked like a tire. Awful customer service but I still tipped 10%. The beverage man was cleaning the taps and he rolled his eyes when he saw the rare meat as well...gross. And just take the sticky ribs off the menu already, they're never available. If you're not going to have chips, at least use decent fries, not cheap matchstick ones. 2nd and last visit there...

Cuban sandwich literally had two slices of meat and not even fully to the end. It was good, but not worth the price if that’s all you’re getting.
