Came here after an event at the Tropicana nearby. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. There were 4 in my party. We were seated immediately although it was on the late side. I got BBQ pulled pork with baked beans and a cucumber and tomato salad. It was all very good. Others in my group got Ribs, tacos and a sandwich with fries. Everyone liked their food. One person got fries which she said tasted more like chips but were very good. My only issue was that parking was limited. Parked a few blocks away. Very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Its a country- picnic theme.

NO BEEF, RIBS OR PORK available....no potatoes available, no mac and cheese available, no street corn available....and who opens a BBQ restaurant without ribs !!?!?!?!?!??!?!??! This was a waste of time and money. Maybe this spot is going to rebrand as a vegetarian BBQ! BRUTAL!

Food was excellent. We got the sausage, sliced brisket and burnt ends. OMG SO GOOD!! Only down point is serving with white bread and not Texas Toast. Can get the Texas toast as a side though but would be better with the meal.

Good selection of bbq meats and meals. We went for smoked wings (naked) they were exceptionally good, followed by burnt ends with fries/mac n cheese. This was the highlight of the meal, then brisket (point) fries and Sandis blue cheese slaw(awesome). Nice open atmosphere, friendly staff and decent selection of local craft beers. Lots of parking across the road if needed. Worth a visit for some decent Q

My 3rd time coming and have not been disappointed. The caulilini very tasty and I ordered pork belly tacos… the manager James came over because they were out of the sauce ( very personable). So I’m switched to the burnt end tacos - very delicious!! We sat at the bar and Tray provided Awsome service … above & beyond. Thank you for another tasty experience.

We went to Dr. BBQ recently on a Monday for lunch. The venue looks very cool and definitely fits a bbq restaurant. You can smell the smoke as you enter the dining area (there is also outdoor seating). Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The menu offers some intriguing variants of normal bbq staples. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, which came with fries. The sandwich included purple slaw on it, and the fries were uniquely cut slices of potato which were seasoned with salt and pepper nicely. The pork was moist and delicious, but the chunks were large enough that it made it impossible for my wife to eat it as a sandwich, and had to bring out the fork and knife. I ordered the Texas Two Step - a combo dinner of two meats and two sides. I ordered brisket and turkey, but was told they were out of turkey, sausage, and half chickens. That eliminated a good portion of the menu, so I went with pulled chicken. For sides I had "cowboy caviar" - a chilled mix of black beans, corn, cilantro, onion, and jalepeno. The menu did not indicate this was served chilled, and had I known it was not a warm dish, I would have opted for something else. I also ordered the Jack Daniels baked beans, and the whiskey flavor was indeed noticeable. The brisket was tender and delicious, while the pulled chicken was a bit on the dry side. The sauces were tasty and went well with the various meats. Each of the sauces had at least a little heat to them. We decided to order a dessert that actually appeared on the appetizer menu - grilled pineapple. It was the most disappointing thing we ate on this visit. It came with no grill marks and no cinnamon glaze that was visible even though it was given in the menu description. Upon tasting it, the pineapple was still mostly raw, and it was obvious that they had just thrown it in the smoker. It was smudged with soot and tasted heavily of smoke. We left the dish after tasting a few bites. We have seen Dr. BBQ on the Food Network and hoped that it would be a truly memorable bbq experience. Unfortunately, it was not. We are not upset that we tried it, but we would not be likely to return based on our experience.

We’ve traveled around the country sampling bbq, so we know what good bbq tastes like. This was one of the biggest disappointments. Brisket was extremely dry, pulled pork had no flavor, fries were cold. The server did send a second plate, the fries were warm but the meats were unchanged. Definitely not what we were expecting.

They don't understand how to trim their pork even when you send it back saying it's all fat and it still comes back mostly fat.... Who is running this place??

The food we had was ok but they were out of brisket and blackened tips. If it's better than Sunny's it not much better. Poor planning to run out of food at 6pm on Father's day.

I was completely disappointed in every dish served to our table of four. The burnt tips were a gob of dry tips with greasy thick barbecue sauce that was inedible. The StLouis ribs were not grilled but baked and microwaved served dry. StLouis ribs are wet. The pulled pork was full of fatty chunks of pork that was grisly and inedible. The blue cheese cole slaw was disgusting and the cowboy corn tasted rancid. The complete meals were left on the table and our disgust voiced to the waitress. I WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE FOR AN EDIBLE MEAL. Also, any reply from Ownership as observed in other posts about the bad food that is apologetic and empathetic should be put towards getting your restaurant to cook edible quality bbq. I'm from St Louis and have been an avid BBQ enthusiast who has frequented the best KC and Texas BBQ, and sadly DrBBQ is far from BBQ. It's a travesty to serve such food as BBQ!!!!!

Last weekend attended a graduation luncheon at Dr. BBQ The Restaurant had a great time. However, in checking my credit card statement realized I was double charged.Contacted the restaurant Tuesday at 11:39 a.m. by 11:47 a.m. the manager Tyler was calling me back and by 11:51 a.m. he had researched and I was receiving a text showing refund initiated. Checked my statement and it's completed ?I wanted everyone to know that it is because of the customer service I received from Tyler that I would go back to Dr BBQ again. I can get barbecue from various places but stellar customer service is priceless‼️ especially in these timesWay to go Tyler for giving my transaction concerns IMMEDIATE attention and taking accountability to fix it! ??

I can't say enough about Dr. BBQ! We were randomly walking on Central Avenue, downtown St. Pete looking for a place to eat! There were so many choices!!! Yelp and an extremely friendly member of the community who noticed our predicament as we stopped on our quest to gather our bearings; both recommended Dr. BBQ, just off 1 block from Central Avenue at the corner of 1st Street. First check! Second check, the place was packed! No available tables or room at the bar... someone mentioned an upstairs area and so we headed out that way... We discovered a nice outdoor bar with plenty of table space... Hurray turned into disappointment when we were told this section was not part of Dr. BBQ restaurant but was run independently with a very limited and totally different menu! Headed downstairs and to our amazement one table had opened up! Yey! Our waitress Joanna was extremely helpful and attentive, (3rd Check). She quickly settled us with tall glasses of water and menus! She went over the food choices and offered her recommendation on popular dishes. We selected the Kimchi fries as appetizers and splitted a full rack of St Louis Ribs! OMG! Both were amazing!!! The combination of cheese sauce and Kimchi over crispy round house potato chips was amazing! Quite a combination! Check! The ribs were smoked and tasty.. not necessarily fell off the bone but were perfectly moist! The various house barbecue sauces were awesome too!!! Joannna brought us yet another sauce selection from the back which just as amazing.. Check! During our meal, the restaurant manager, James stopped and asked if we needed anything.. He were quick to reply our satisfaction with the top notch service and food! Check! Great food and service at Dr. Barbeque! Can't wait to go back!

The service hasn't always been consistent however for a BBQ joint, hands down my favorite. Nice atmosphere and options for everyone.

What can I say to persuade you to go elsewhere?? Do you want shoddy service? Do you want bland meat? Do you want dry meat? Do you want watery drinks? Do you want meat that doesn't fall off the bone? If you're into any of these things, then you're in the right place.

Love this spot! Sadly the night I went they were out of the burnt ends, which are phenomenal. I ordered the Korean BBQ Pork Belly Tacos. They were delicious. A little bit of heat to them but so good! Would definitely ordered again. The service was excellent! We were a large group 10 people and our waiter was great. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Fun vibes and feels! Hoping next time to get the burnt ends.
