The food is definitely delicious. The portions is well worth the price. If you want a good home cook southern food try them. Also the drinks are 10

Excited to try the restaurant because I used to LOVE the food truck but was sincerely let down. Firstly the atmosphere was dingy to say the least and had a strange smell to it. I totally understand the look they were going for but yuck! It was early in the afternoon and they were already out of oxtails. My husband had the friend shrimp and it was under cooked ( ik strange right?) then there was the Mac and cheese. I’ve had better a chic fil a. It was runny. Why????? The lady was nice but I definitely will not be returning.

Had this food before off the truck but today I was in the area of the restaurant and I gotta say the food wasn’t worth the price though it wasn’t to high but it wasn’t that good the Mac and cheese was the worst Mac and cheese I ever had just noddles in a sauce with melted shredded cheese on the top smfh man I ain’t even eat my other plate of food yet which is the meatloaf which was recommended to me by the lady taking orders

I got the oxtails with black eyed peas and cabbage. They included some rice under the oxtails. I also got a piece of cornbread.
Everything was Delicious!
The food is SO good.
The oxtails were so tender. The food was served hot. Their portions are large. I have another meal here at home. I will definitely be returning.
I was a bit disappointed that their greens weren’t done. I showed up at noon thinking all the bins would be full, but the greens weren’t going to be ready for another 25 or 30 minutes. I’ll try them next time.
Katrina, working at the counter, is such a sweetheart.
I enjoyed being able to eat the food right away in their dining room. Although, it needs a little bit of work. A coat of paint and some covers on the electrical outlets would be wonderful. They had two TVs, but neither were on. I thought it was strange that they had a big soda vending machine in the dining room.

We had Heavy's Food Truck come to our location for a work function for 75 people on Halloween. They were AMAZING! From the beginning of the process with Frances to the food they served. EVERYTHING was on point! I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be calling them again. Super happy with our experience!

My wife and I just went there for the first time. First of all, the food was amazing but really caught our attention was the customer service it was above and beyond any normal restaurant we were enjoying the oxtail in the fried chicken, the macaroni and cheese, the cornbread and the collar greens, and then they bought a sample of their beef short ribs and gave us one of their specialty koolaid's this is the type of service that most restaurants are lacking in that they got a whole bunch of if you've never been there, please give yourself an opportunity to go because that was great.

I hate to say but yesterday 10/23/2024 was not a good experience for me. I ordered fish and the spices or salt was too much on it to eat, macaroni and cheese was old and the green beans was soggy. I paid $16.00 for the meal. I live on the northside of town and it was late to take it back. By the meal being bad, I just threw the whole dinner out. I was disappointed with this meal I got today.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best places in St. Pete to come and eat. Not only is everyone so welcoming, but the food makes you feel at home. The food is full of flavor and cook to perfection. 10/10 will definitely be returning for more oxtail and short ribs!

Absolutely delicious — a great little hidden gem of South St. Pete that truly shines in serving scrumptious soul food. Very reasonable prices and portions. If you’re looking for good food that nourishes the soul, look no further.
