This place is so damn good I lowkey don't even want to review it and keep it a secret for myself lol. But I'm not gonna gatekeep and share the best damn seafood and bbq in the Tampa area!!! Their menu is sort of a hot mess but you cannot go wrong with anything you order. I got the bbq and seafood plate (inshore slam $26) which had both ribs, shrimp and fish cooked YOUR way! I picked blackened and it was AMAZING. The broccoli as a side (recommended by the cashier) is also to DIE for. It's SO GOOD. Ambiance is low key, great vibes, outdoor, food truck, live music, a little eccentric and I LOVE IT! This is definitely a must go in the Tampa area!

Can’t believe it took me so long to try this place. Great atmosphere, friendly owner, staff, patrons. Probably the best fresh fish in Tampa area and it’s local. A bit chilly but they had outdoor heaters and would move them to accommodate patrons. I’ll definitely be back!!

To keep everyone in the loop, would go back to Hookin ain't easy but just for local fish or stuff to order . The tuna came from the north east and they had it in the case with a smoked fish of some sort by the taste . I'm sure it would have been fine seared , but not sushi grade even though I asked .

GREAT hidden gem on a busy street in Gulfport/St.Pete. The owner is fully hands-on and has created a badass space to enjoy some freshAF food right outa the water.It's not ultra-polished like many places so it feels genuine (and it is, for sure). Mathew's pitch is fun and he's got a great personality when he's dialoging with you. You'll get great food with a wry grin.So, the food was GREAT. I had the grouper sandwich and the seasoning he uses is spot-on. They also have these potatoes-as-a-side fried in some magic elixir of deliciousness. They were fantastic.Anyway, you won't be let down by this great local spot.Pro-tip: Park across the street in the church parking lot because they're cool like that.

Such bad cheap sushi! It's cheap because in sushi you get what you pay for. Do not recommend unless you know nothing about quality .

Oh my, where have you guys been? Best grouper sandwich I've had in forever! My mom gave me one of her fried shrimp and wow was it huge and fresh and delicious! My son got the special and loved it! We will be back! Maybe tomorrow!

The guy that owns this place has four boats and he goes out and gets fresh seafood daily for this restaurant. It is amazing! Everything is fresh and delicious and the service is friendly and kind. It is outdoors, and there is no inside seating, but there is plenty of shade and fans to keep you cool and if you sit by the bar, it's even cooler. I love the live music that they seem to have on the patio as well.

This place is a hidden gem! The seafood is great! I had the snow crab tray it comes with potatoes and corn. The seasoning was very tasty and the crab was super fresh. This place has a slight dive bar feel and it's not a bad thing. The owner has 4 boats that go out to catch the fish for the cafe and for the retail shop. This place is the real deal and the price was very reasonable! Have to come through and try it out if your in the area.
