I live most of the year in Northern NJ where there are dozens of kosher restaurants and supermarkets, and Jo-El's compares favorably to what I'm accustomed to. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and eager to offer samples of the dishes in the showcase that I was asking questions about. Loved the Chopped Chicken Liver and liked the chopped beef liver. Loved the dilled cucumber salad. Loved the carrot latkes and liked the potato latkes. Loved the Chicken Schnitzel. I made three meals out of one cutlet. Liked the side dish that contained rice, lentils and caramelized onions. Liked the stuffed cabbage (was the filling ground turkey?). Can't wait to try their roast chicken and matzo ball soup.

Love coming here for food and everyone is nice and helpful! It's pretty much the only Jewish deli in the whole Tampa/Pinellas county area.

Ordered a half dozen bagels here. They gave me rock hard frozen bagels pre bagged. Also found a piece of chewed up plastic in my lox cream cheese. Never going here again.

Usually Outstanding, but some disappointment Jo-El's Kosher has been in St Petersburg for decades. In the past I've always found them excellent! But the past two times, I found that prepared foods like chicken pot pie & knishes were not good quality. There was an actual bone fragment in the pie, and it was all stringy dark meat with very few veggies and no gravy. I will give them credit for honoring that with credit. Their corned beef is excellent. So I bought things like corned beef, actual chicken, sliced brisket, soups and avoided prepared foods. Both owners and service staff are very nice, helpful and efficient.

One of my neighbors said he couldn't find good pastrami in the St. Pete area. I brought him here b/c I had already found this place and knew it was all good. He dove into a hot pastrami on rye and proclaimed it the best he's had! We have since been back for lunch, this time it was the super stuffed pastrami for both him and his wife, plus a supersized loaf of rye bread! This place is a treat with food for the soul!
