Me and my husband come here about 2Times a week, sometimes three. We’ve never had a problem with anything before. We came in this early afternoon and although the food was great, the service was not. Normally the women with the brown hair (I don’t know names, so please excuse me) is nice and pretty quiet but today the young red head who just started a few weeks ago was working as well and we’ve been serviced by her many times so far and she’s always so lovely and apologizes if she hears us wrong, or has to fix something because she’s new and we always tell her it’s okay. We are the ones who came in a few days ago and complimented the food we had the night before to the manager and the young red head got excited because it was her who cooked it and made our order. Today, the way the other employee spoke to her was completely distasteful. I’m not sure what the situation was but the young women was prepping and the other women started reprimanding her in a very rude and condescending tone, we both heard her say “this is the first time I’m doing this” so for a coworker to speak to someone like that who isn’t only new but doing the task for the first time it’s very disrespectful and unprofessional. We have seen people come and go as workers here the last few months maybe it has to do with some of your employees not knowing how to work as a team. If that had been me being talked to like that I wouldn’t work another day there. She’s cooked for us many times and we’ve never had issues so maybe take it easy on the new people, they don’t come knowing it all and it’s basic human decency to respect people and help them. Don’t know if we will be returning if the atmosphere doesn’t change and that is sad because we truly love coming here, love the food and do love all the employees, just was very disappointed today.

I went today with my husband. This was our first time ever being at a King of the Coop and it did not disappoint! Neither of us really enjoy spicy foods, so we got the Naked tenders and Biddy nuggets. Both were delicious as well as the fries. Everything was fresh and hot since it is all made to order. A woman named Di was working and was such a sweetheart. She asked if we had ever been there before and when we said no she took the time to explain their system to us. The only downside is the lack of seating, but with a store that small I can see how it’s hard to find the space. We will definitely be visiting in the future!

With the Chicken Sandwich “wars” going on right now in the Tampa Bay Area, we had to try King of the Coop. The menu is sorta confusing with an array of heat (spices), sandwiches, and sauces. But we both finally settled on the Hen, with the Midway spice and one with King sauce and one with dill ranch. Everything was really, really good. The sandwich was huge and the bun had a slight sweetness like a Hawaiian roll.Only 1 table inside and one outside, so really this restaurant is more suitable for take out or door dash only. Definitely will return and may turn up the heat a notch on my next sandwich also will bring my daughter who will love the King Mac chicken sandwich.

1st time trying out this hidden gem! Stumbled upon it after searching for take out close to my moms house. Went in to order and it was freshly made and ready in about 10 minutes. I got the 3 piece chicken tender meal and added 1 tender extra (I got 2 seasoned with Biddy and 2 seasoned midway) It came with fries, bread and the most amazing pickles! I also got a side order of mac and cheese, and a side of hush puppies w/pimento cheese. Everything was amazing! The hushpuppies were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! We tried out the kings sauce, honey mustard and dill ranch. All were good, but I really liked the dill ranch! Can’t wait to order again. My only hope is they would expand and open in Riverview! The guy working last night was super friendly and very helpful answering all my questions prior to ordering. I didn’t realize they closed at 8p and walked in around 740p and was treated the same if I had walked in at opening!

Hubby and I loved the food. So delicious! We knocked their score a little because it really is only a take-out place. By the time we got home, our sandwiches were soggy and we needed to eat it with a fork/knife. Not a deal breaker, as the food is the reason we will definitely be back.

This was my first time at the St. Pete location and I was disappointed by the lack of heat on our tenders. I've been to the original location and my mouth was on fire with just the midway seasoning, but here, I got nothing. Thankfully their tender flavor is delicious in general, but my husband ordered the Nashville hot and was also underwhelmed. We got hints of the heat in certain spots, but it needed more sauce or oil or whatever they toss it in!

Delicious. Ordered the chicken level below Nashville hot and was plenty spicy so I'd hesitate going full Nashville. Catfish was flaky and large piece good for sharing. Enjoyed the huge side order of hush puppies and the Mac was decadent. Best banana pudding, even beats of NYCs Magnolia's. Looking forward to trying the massive cookies next time.

I just discovered this place today! My husband and I were so impressed. He got the dirty bird sandwich and I got the king mac. SO SO GOOD. Nashville level heat is spicy but flavorful, doesn't leave your mouth in pain. Macaroni was delicious and the coleslaw too. The lady up front was kind and helped us navigate the menu/decide what to order. We will be back :) bonus - y'all are so close to our house. Thank you!!

King of the Coop was the best fried chicken I've had in St. Petersburg! Their sandwiches are huge and so flavorful. I wanted to take a picture, but meal was gone quickly . I cannot wait to go back!

Our first time at the St Pete restaurant. The cashier was unfriendly, not helpful at all. No thank you or any other kind gesture. My husband liked the food, me not so much. I couldn’t eat my chicken leg because the meat was partially black and tasted old. I probably won’t go there again!

This is a cool little local spot where the guys cooking work hard and make a great fried chicken! It’s TAKE OUT ONLY. We got a pound of the jumbo tenders and a pound of the smaller tenders…there was enough for the six of us. We also had the fries and hush puppies. We thought the hush puppies were the best we’d ever had! We got the chicken naked and the spice rub, I would probably prefer sauced which I’ll try next time. They were out of Mac n cheese and banana pudding by the end of the day on Sunday, so go early!

Excellent taste and legitimate Nashville flavors, although the Nashville hot option was not as hot as I was expecting after visiting Nashville a few weeks ago. Five stars on food, 1 star for other things… they didn’t have regular buns left so they had to serve it to me as sliders, not that big of a deal but I ordered the fowl fries which require plastic ware and when my order was ready they told me they were all out. I had nowhere or no way to eat my fowl fries which looked so good, the employees didn’t offer me any alternatives. Unfortunately I had to throw them away because it’s not finger food. Sad to waste my money, the employee should have told me when I ordered so that I could have ordered something else. Not all of us plan on eating our food at home.

I was surprised at how good it was for a "to go" restaurant. Hush puppies were excellent. The food wasn't greasy at all, which is surprising since everything is deep fried. The only thing I think they could go without is the slice of regular sliced sandwich bread. Pickles were good. NOTE: they are debit/credit card only. NO CASH. SIDE NOTE: Limited amount of drinks-No Coke or Pepsi Products.
