Kobé Japanese Steakhouse - St. Petersburg

Great place to celebrate Birthday! Whole family enjoyed all the staff, food and overall dining experience.

We visited Kobe Steakhouse in St. Petersburg to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a group of nine. The atmosphere was lively, and the food overall was very good—classic hibachi flavors with generous portions. Everyone enjoyed the taste and presentation. The service, however, felt a little rushed. Our chef prepared everything quickly and served it in a way that made it hard to keep up with eating before the next dish arrived. While this isn't unusual for hibachi-style dining, it did feel a bit hurried for a special occasion where we hoped to linger and enjoy the experience more. There was a small hiccup with my youngest daughter's order, but the staff corrected it quickly and handled it well, which I appreciated. Despite that, the experience was enjoyable. The food tasted great, the birthday celebration was memorable, and we would return again. Kobe offers a fun dining experience for groups and special occasions, even if the pacing can be a little fast.

Yummy sake & smoked old-fashioned. Seating with 8 other folk. Delicious Japanese hibachi meal: soup, salad, rice, veggies, noodles, steak for hubby, scallops for me. Very entertaining chef and staff. Looking forward to our next visit.

It was my first time at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse and I highly recommend it. The food was delicious, the staff professional and friendly. We were seated as soon as our group of 6 arrived to the restaurant. The place was crowded, but everything was very well organized.

Cook, cooked food on very high heat to get through the cooking process fast. A lot of burnt flavor rice was almost crispy.

I usually love hibachi and was really looking forward to this dinner, but unfortunately, this place missed the mark on almost every level. To start, we waited over 30 minutes past our reservation time, and no one seemed to care or update us. When we were finally seated at the hibachi table, the server took another 15 minutes to get our drink orders. The chef seemed rushed and disinterested, barely engaging with the table, which is half the fun of a hibachi experience. There was almost no show—no tricks, no jokes, nothing you'd expect at a hibachi grill. The food itself was bland and greasy. The rice was overcooked and mushy, and the steak I ordered medium rare, and it came out well done and chewy. Shrimp was rubbery, and the vegetables were swimming in oil. Portions were small for the price, and nothing tasted particularly fresh. The atmosphere felt chaotic, not lively. Loud, disorganized, and honestly a bit dirty. Tables weren't being wiped down properly between parties. Overall, I left disappointed, underwhelmed, and overcharged. I have been here previously and never had this bad an experience. I am hopeful this was just an off night.

Food and drinks are great but It was very noisy, it was difficult to have a conversation with the person next to me Felt rushed to get through dinner.
